Getting Rebels to stay still in Trenches

Post by wookieejedi »

I am making a Hoth Battlefields map, and I pretty much have everything worked out except for the rebels in teh trenches.

I put snipe nodes around and in the trenches, I put barriers at the front and back of the trenches like was done in the offical Hoth map, yet still the AI won't stay still, they keep running into the trench wall untill they either escape or get shot.

Any ideas?

the trenches are a difficult object to work with I myself have worked with them and found them very difficult... the only thing i can think of is make the planning extremely small and extremely precise maybe if you could take a screenshot of what the planning and barriers look like in ZE and post it that would be helpful.

If you have nodes placed, it might help to run a path through the tench.

I put about three in each trench but it doesn't do anything. What do you think? and what do you mean by node path?

Not sure about your situation, but dobntb put planning into the trench. AI will run to the nearest node and stop.

he means planning (hubs and nodes) and did you say you have 3 paths in one trench...that seems a lot i only use 1 that's very accurate to the trench model

as people have mentioned already, very specific planning nodes should get the job done.
