command post problem

okay so i wanted to move my CPs on my map, so i moved the CPs, the capture regions, and the spawn paths--i basically just moved everything in Zero Editor

then when i played the map the cps and regions had successfully moved, but everyone spawned exactly where they had before--in other words, the spawn paths obviously didn't move

i checked the layers in ZE, i cleaned, i did a manual clean...does anybody know what i (obviously) forgot to do?

okay, sorry for the dp, but i'm obviously doing something wrong...

i went back to my old map, and tried moving things around...if i move the CP in Zero Editor, it moves in game
if i move the capture region, it moves in game
if i move the spawn path...nothing. it stays exactly where it was.

am i just doing something really obvious wrong? i mean, you do just right click and drag it to move it, don't you?

If moving them is not working, then it sounds like your:
<modID>_<gamemode>.PTH
file in your world1 folder is not updating to the changes when you save.

Just delete the spawn path data in that file and delete the spawn paths in ZE, then place new spawn paths and save, then check that file again to see if the new spawn path data was saved successfully, if the new data was saved then munge and try out your map again.

ok i am having a serious problem with these spawn paths and it is pissing me off. i tried what you said, AceMasterMind...i deleted the path information in that file, made new paths in Zero Editor, and saved it, but it WON'T SHOW UP IN GAME! i've done 2 manual cleans and i think 3 normal cleans, and nothing's working

Did you put them on the proper layer? ie conquest layer for conquest? Also did you name them as they are indicated in the spawn path space as shown in the cp definitions?

yes and yes, i double checked

Update: I deleted all the spawn paths in Zero Editor (again), everything in the file ABC_conquest.PTH (again), and did a manual clean (again). in game, you can still spawn at exactly where the spawn paths used to be. so...i still don't know what the problem is

This may sound drastic but go to every layer and delete every path you find. Save the world (and then you map :D ) Close ZE. Do a clean then a munge. Go back into ZE and redo the paths then munge again. Someone else had a similar problem to this and after having them send me the map so I could see what was going on this is what I had to do to get rid of unwanted paths and cps. Oh you may want to check for unwanted cps too.

ok i'll try...just to let you know this is exactly what i do every time except for one spawn path thats not on the same layer. by the way, when you say "check for unwanted cps" what do you mean exactly?

also when you say save your map do you just mean back it up?

I've been having this problem, too. No amount of cleaning (manual or otherwise) seems to fix it. I've had the problem before, and it just seemed to fix itself after a long time of doing other stuff.

It doesn't seem to be fixing itself for me this time, though, either. Perhaps I'll try renaming the spawn paths to something different entirely so that the game recognizes them as new. >_<

Does anyone know where the modtools save the spawn path data?

now that is a good idea i didn't even think about renaming the spawn paths

No by save you map I just meant a normal save in ZE (the Save The World) was a funny :) and by unwanted CPs I mean any that may have been accidentally put in while you were trying things (you may not have any)

@authraw the paths are save in the "modename".pth file

lol FragMe i'm slow i totally missed that...

by the way i tried it and it works now. (yay!) the only thing i did differently was for each command post i deleted the name of the spawn path that it refers to (you know, in the box on the right in Zero Editor). then i cleaned, then i named all my spawn paths something different

so anyway, thanks for the help guys
