After 15 months, the second main version is finally released: FC Mod Jan 29th, 2008


FC Mod stands for the FreeCam and FakeConsole mods. It is really two mods rolled into one. Assuming no one notices any major problems, I'll post it to Filefront in a couble of days. Please answer the new poll. If you don't understand it, just ask.

What it Does:
-Adds a shortcut key for faster selection of the 'Auto-assign' button when picking teams.
-Adds over 170 commands to the Fake Console list.
-Everything the FreeCam vJan-19-2008 mod does

IMPORTANT:
-Read the readme in the included SWBF2_FreeCam_Jan-19-2008 mod too
-Other players do not have to have this mod installed to see its effects.
-Improper use of this mod WILL casue MAJOR CRASHES for YOU and OTHER PLAYERS.

The readme is really long, so are some other parts of it: FreeCam controls:

• Home/End keys = up/down
  left/right arrow keys = left/right
  up/down arrow keys = forward/backward
  +/- keys = fast/slow
  Mouse = look around or steer left/right while moving

How do I activate the Fake Console after having installed the new Common.lvl and how do I get into Free Cam Mode ? You said nothing concerning this yet.

What does the "fake console" do?

Cheats basically, along with various useful commands, such as infinite reinforcements, infinite health for all (very useful for making movies)

Yes, but his fake console has only one command at the moment. I ran through all of the console commands and sent him a list of every useful one. He should be adding them to the next release. (about 30 commands or so)

Good point. I changed the pause menu. The pause menu is the thing you see when you press [Esc]. This is where the new buttons are.

The Fake Console is the version from the mod tools. All I did was make the button visible. The single command has something to do with idiot mode. I think idiot mode may be changing the ping values to colored bars, but the mode is disabled.

I'm told there are other commands from bf2_modtools. I don't know, I can't run it (DVD version ).

If I can add those other commands to the console, any command which can be used to cheat in MP will only be displayed in SP.

When the other commands are fixed, will you put a list here of all the commands?

Awsome Zerted, now we can get some decent screenshots but i have one favour to ask: could you upload to filefront or savefile, because rapidshare hates me

I was planning on putting the next release on filefront. I may be able to put this one on savefile, but I don't have time today.

I'm not sure if it's just my game, but a combination of the shell.lvl and common.lvl will make the game crash when swtiching maps in multiplayer.

YAY!! I just tried the free camera, it's good to see it in SWBF2. Even if it does mess up multiplayer it worth switching the common.lvl just to take screen shots.

K, I found out my problem was a bad core.lvl, so disregard my earlier post.
