Is it possible to setup an animation for a gun?

I want to make a gun that when it fires the bolt/chamber comes back like a real pistol is that possible? If so how?

Couldn't you do it by making new first person animations and enveloping the gun to the FPM?

That means you could only have one weapon for the unit. You can't swap FPMs on the fly.

Or you could try to animate a muzzle effect to have a custom msh to move back a bit, but it'd be sloppy and not worth the effort really.

you cant make new firstperson-animations
(they arent supported)

Can I create a new reload or fire animation if so how?

Well the title really says it all but Im trying to create a new reload animation for my gun like a bolt and I want to know how?

As this was said in the last topic, it isn't possible, you cant animate a weapon.

However if you only want to animate the character, there are plenty of tutorials in the XSI thread, i'm sure you can find one about it.
