Don't believe you can change the 3-letter code, but you can change anything else about your map using the localize tool. (Map name, map description, etc.)

If you want to change the three letter ID, you're going to have to alter a *@#$load of files. (Waaaaaaaay more trouble than it's worth.) It'd be easier to recreate it, and copy what you can, or else keep the three letter ID. Either way you'll need to relocalize to correct the name you see on the selection screen and whatnot.

Under data_DDW, there should be a file called "editlocalize". Open that, navigate around a bit, and you'll find the map name, description, plus a lot of other things. Edit to your heart's content, save, and munge. Just make sure you check the Common folder's box, because it doesn't seem to munge the localization changes when you just check Localize.

This is funny, because I just got done doing this earlier today. :P

"***" represents your 3-letter code, of course.

1. Under your Data_*** folder, open the file called editlocalize.bat
2. Click the plus sign next to "mapname"
3. Click the plus sign next to "name"
4. Find your 3-letter code in the list and click on it
5. Change the name in the box on the left
6. File -> Save (this can take a long time, be patient and don't click anything while it's saving)

When you munge, make sure you check the "Localize" checkbox.

Hope that's what you're looking for! :)

EDIT: Gah! Looks like MercuryNoodles beat me to it! I'll get you next time... ;)
