Problems with side modifications of CIS

OK,
I can do anything I want with the Rep clones, but CIS is giving me all sorts of headaches.
Has anyone else had any problems with the CIS? I have done all the same things as I did for Republic, but it won't work.
I know its hard to help when there are so many factors that could make the cis.lvl and cisshell.lvl not work in the shipped maps.
First question is does anyone know of tricks or tips with the CIS side, or is it supposed to be just like the rep. If it is then I know I am screwing something up (most likely -

).
(TO test my issues, I have alos not made any changes to the CIS side, and munged it as if it were a modded side. I have copied my Common over to sides, I copied the CIS from assets, I have put the proper munge and clean bats under the sides. When I use an unchanged CIS, it still crashes. THe difference I can see is that the addon cis.lvl is 94 KB and the shipped cis is 96 KB.)
Second, Also (I know I am long winded), the shipped cisshell.req is kind of wacky, it lists models and then various weapons of the classes because most of the classes use the same bdroid model. If I want the engineer, the heavy, and the magnaguard to use cis_weap_inf_rifle, how do I list this in the cisshell req so that the game will recognize it? I would assume I would do it the same way as I did for the Republic, listing the unit model and then the weapon.
Third, Also, I noticed in one of the gametoast forum tutorials they refer to putting info from assets\shell, except the req files and putting them inot _BUILD\shell. I did not do this for the Republic, is this required.
Thanks for any assistance and Merry Christmas!!!

Custom sides don't need an ABCshell.req, as for the rest I can't understand what do you want to do with the sides, I am working on a Clone Wars era (CIS and Marines), so I might give you some advice, if you want ideas check Wookiepedia.

The CIS and rep sides hardly vary in difference, would you mind posting an error log?

VL,
I am planning on giving the CIS troops the E-5 blaster/pistol-rifle thing, what the bdroid marine uses. Anything you can proved would be helpful.
DRK,
I work on getting that error log for you.
Thanks!!!
EDIT:
Alrighty,
DRK, I assume the error.log, if it exists is under the Gamedata... I cannot find one. I have run my visualmunge again for the CIS, and it still crashes. Is there a parameter I have to setup so that an error log gets produced?
Alos, in my earlier post, I said 96KB and 94KB, it should be 96 and 94MB... sorry getting late.
Just as a side note, I have had 2 anomolies show up with this custom modding. When I pick on Obi-Wan in the Tat map, it crashes and on the Kashyyk map, poor Yoda has been somehow assigned another skeleton, he is as tall as a clone!!!
I am beginning to wonder if I should not re-install my game, but I wouldn't even know if that would help. I wonder if some bugs have crept in with all of my modding...
Let me know how I can get an error log going, if you could.
Thanks for the help!!
PS, PS
If its BF2log, I can post this, but I don't see anything that looks like an error...

OK, you may want to take my idea of a droid army.
Rifleman, Rocketeer, Sniper, Engineer, and Support will be normal B1 Battle Droids, to make an easy B1 Rifleman just make a copy of the CIS default marine's ODFs then replace your default rifleman's with them (rename them to be the rifleman), then just edit its weapons if you like to take out their rocket launcher and replace it with a pistol.
Now, if you want some ideas try this.
B1 Rifleman
-Blaster Rifle
-Pistol
-Thermal D.
B1 Rocketeer
-R. Launcher
-Grenade Launcher
-Concussion G. (look for them on released assets)
B1 Sniper
-Sniper Rifle
-Pistol
-Recon Droid
-Turret
B1 Engineer
-Shotgun
-Fusion Cutter
-Detpack
-Mines
B1 Support
-Shotgun/Blaster Rifle
-Custom Fusion Cutter (to heal droids)
-Buff (Rally or Rage)
-Health & Ammo
OOM Command Battle Droid
-Bulldog
-Command Pistol
-Time Bomb/Manned Turret Dispenser/etc. (something different than the actual Magna Guard officer).
B2 Super Battle Droid (My version of a Swamp Gas SBD from Wookipepedia, tamper with its status to make a walking tank.)
-Wrist Blaster
-Wrist Tri-Shot
-Wrist Rocket
-Swamp Gas (customize a weapon with a cone ordnance and give it the "gas" effect)
Droideka
-Dual-Mode Repeating Blasters (In case you use shield in vehicles add a charge state to them and put Ion blasters in it.)
-Shielding
I hope this was of some help.

VL,
Thanks for that, I look that over.

severity 2's most of the time are not important, can you find any sev 3's?

DRK,
I looked at the BF2log, and there are no severity 3's. It appears with all the crashing, there have not been any incidents reported since the 12-20-2008 date.
Is there anything else I could post for you that might help???

Can you re-run the bf2_modtools, run your map, and when it crashes, check the Date stamp first, then if it has changed, check your log for any sev 3's.

DRK,
I re-ran the ModTools, went into the map, it crashed, but no updated BF2Log.
I also have made changes to both the Imperial and Alliance sides, these have worked, so I am not sure why the CIS still doesn't work.
Also, this has occured with the Republic, Empire and Alliance, the heroes don't work in the shipped maps anymore after I modify the side's classes. I have made NO changes to the heroes or any common folders.
Unless you have a better idea, I am going to save my current work, clean up my CPU, Re-Install BF2 and the ModTools and see how that goes.
Also, the BF2 I have I purchased about two years ago and it is updated to 1.1 patch.
I will keep you posted, let me know if you have any ideas as well.

they don't need it unless you want the team to replace the default rep team, in which case the repshell.req tells the game what textures to load for the Galactic Conquest unit purchase thingy.

I wouldnt do that, just replace your modded CIS side with the stock CIS files and try doing the modifications again. You got 3 other sides working, so you probably just misspelled something somewhere.

DRK,
I went ahead and rebuilt everything, it was no big deal for me to. I was afraid I might have corrupted my installation.
I will work on it some today and see if I can get it working.
I also don't have this "Unofficial Patch 1.3" either, I was not sure if that had something to do with my problems.
9 chances out of 10, I bet your right, I just have something mispelled...
I will keep you updated...
EDIT:
OK, looking at the 1.3 Patch readme, that shouldn't have anything to do with it. Mysterious mispelled text is becoming more probable!!! Or some other silly mistake...
EDIT2
DRK,
I have finally gotten something, Below is a BFront2.log file of the CIS when I crashed.
I have rebuilt everything, and did the Republic, which works again.
All I modifed on the CIS side was giving the marine rifle to the engineer as well as the marine award rifle.
I also only change the common odf's on the pistol, award pistol, rifle and award rifle, these worked with the Republic, but not the CIS.
Anotehr thing I did when I setup the MAP called ZAA, I also selected Hero Assault, thinking this is why I might of had Heroes crashing in Instant Action.
Let me know if this helps at all.
BFront2:
EDIT3:
OK, I have looked over the BFfront2.log and looked at the JediCreationside.
The anims are under my data_zaa/side/republic, so why isn't the munge pulling these in? Are they to be placed somewhere else? I believe that is what is causing my crashes. I anyone can help, I would appreciate it. Thanks...
