NOTE - Don't be dumb. Don't be a pirate. If you want to install mods, own the game. That is all
First up for the Wii -- Riivolution. Requires a modded Wii, however this is an on-the-fly patcher for ON DISC content. It basically overwrites what's in memory with what's in the Riivolution patch. So it allows for owners of original discs to have modded content. Like Reggie! - a fully fledged level editor for New Super Mario Bros. Wii. There are lots of mods currently in the works to remake old Super Mario titles with NSMBW features.
Then of course there's the obvious tons of Halo and Halo 2 Xbox mods (most of which are cheap hax, but there's a few good mods out there).
Just curious if anyone else runs mods on their games. I know Counter Strike Xbox has tons of mods, and Super Smash Bros Brawl has tons of "texmods" (texture replacements).

Re: Great mods for console games
People have actually started adding custom models into brawl, like Bowser Jr./Shadow Mario, Zero, and Mewtwo.
Sure, they need some improvements, as some of them just stop moving and go into default position at times, but it's pretty impressive for something that people said was impossible a few years ago.
But yeah, I tend to ignore most console halo mods due to most of them being "I just edited High Ground to look like it's snowy lolololololol," but the vehicle hackers tend to be very talented.
Who wouldn't want a Mongoocycle or a Hellhornet?

Wow, I might actually play Brawl if Zero was in there. They need to hack the N64 version so I can play it emulated. I don't have a Wii. The Halo 3 stuff is hilariously awesome. Especially the Hornet.

Look at the link in the sidebar for I think both of the Halo vids. The Demon is more hilariously awesome.Teancum wrote:Wow, I might actually play Brawl if Zero was in there. And for a moment there, I thought you guys were talking about the Zero from the anime, not the Megaman series.

Oh I've played a Wii plenty. I just tire of Mario and friends. There's maybe 2-3 games on the Wii that are exclusive to it that'd lure me in. If I had a Wii, it'd be solely for the homebrew.

I can relate. I was thinking of getting a PS2 a few years back, but it was mostly for Kingdom Hearts.Teancum wrote:Oh I've played a Wii plenty. I just tire of Mario and friends.
