No point in using jpeg textures if it's planned to be a battlefront prop.

TGA is a really good format, most games use it.

okay, that's what I thought, but my texture won't get on to the thing. THAT's the problem.Caleb1117 wrote:TGA is a really good format, most games use it.

Thanks
I always did playermodels as you might now, but i started looking into vehicles as well.. Atm, I've got a walker wip, and a capital-flyer wip.. Both work ingame; i just need to improve the mesh!

Well, thanks NullCommando
I'm back again now with serious models since I've finished the Easter map, so you guys can expect more (player) models, also fighters, vehicles and props now!

Are you forgetting to change the view (where it says "shaded") to "textured" or "textured decal" ?Fluffy_the_ic wrote:I did that, but now I can't get my texture onto the image.MandeRek wrote:Texturing in XSI 6:
1. Go to the modtools 'screen' (so not XSI default: just modtools)
2. Select your object
3. Select 'Texture'> Unique UV's
4. Close the popup
5. Click Texture>Image
6. Click new>new from file
7. Select your texture.
I'm at school atm, could be a little different but this is it; very simple!
EDIT: My texture's a bitmap. Is that the problem?
EDIT:Wait, no, I'm trying a jpg on my TV model (an I'm-bored model),so do you have to use certain types of pictures for it? or do you need to click something in the image window?

Re: Model showcase thread Part II
Okay I have given up on flashlights, they are too small and piddley so instead I made animated searchlights
They are much bigger, work a bit better and add to the ambiance of a map. There are three types two look skyward, a rotating and a sweep. And one roof mount that does a 180 degree sweep.
Picture

and of course a movie

That looks really nice, FragMe. Lot better than those piddly handheld jobbers.
