nuke

Post by Fluffy_the_ic »

By "nuke" i mean something like the one that hit Hiroshima in WWII. By that I mean the fact that it was a large explosion that's radiation gave many people cancer, which i believe we all knows slowly kills people. so, would it be possible to combine maybe a pulse grenade with nuero poison?

Nope. It may be possible with massive odf tampering, but I think not. If you make the poison exp the grenade exp, the grenade doesnt throw.

oh it's very possible to do a mushroom cloud, but it would be a custom effect, and would require some tinkering in the particle editor, or manually in the fx files. As for gradual poison-like damage taking from an explosion, thats not possible.

Someone made a poison grenade, so couldn't you just change the explosion and the radius?

Let's just get this out of the way. An emitterordnance (not a grenade, not a projectile of any sort) is the only way to add a poison effect. Anything you've seen to the contrary has just been a creative use of an emitterordnance.

It's nice that you want to find new stuff, but at some point I wonder why you even want input from more experienced modders if you're just going to shrug it off and say "Oh hey thanks, but I'm sure you haven't tried this every way possible. I'm sure I'll find something you overlooked." I feel like this is one of those questions that just keeps popping up despite being answered the same way every time.

If you want to add a poison effect, use an emitterordnance. Combine it with another type of ordnance (secondary ordnance). Just know that you have to have an emitterordnance to make it work.

Isn't there like damage delays and time periods for damage on the grenade odfs? (I don't have my modtools, I'm at the beach.)

I do believe your goal might not really be for trully realistic radiation effects here, But in reality radiation can take days for any lethal effect. It's really best to just stick to making an awesome explosion instead. And maybe give it other delayed damage effects that would be associated with atomic blasts. Like a shockwave. Make sure to add plenty of that effect which can throw a unit like half a mile as if it was a leaf in the wind to make it all the more fun to die by!
