Looks cool. I'm really looking forward to this map. It'll be great.

As for the units, I could probably think of some stuff, though it's been a while since I've seen the Muunilinst episodes of the Clone Wars cartoons, so I don't have too good of an idea of what kind of weapons the units were carrying. I could probably mess around with the different units and make their lasers a little more movie-accurate, with higher fire rates and everything. But if I can get some ideas for different weapons that were actually used in the battle I'll probably try doing those too. It was easy for my Alderaan map because I just made stuff up for it, but for this map I want to try to make them accurate... I'll see what I can do.

Schizo: As far as weapons go, they were the same as Geonosis (even the droids were tinted orange, which looks strange against the urban background). I would like to see faster firing weapons, but the power of each shot would have to be decreased to even it out. Also I'd like to replace the Magna Guard with the IG lancer droid ( same as IG-88 ) but give it the darker black skin. I have the mesh from Rend's site (link to the left) but I have no idea what to do with it to get it to have the Magna guard's weapons.

TheGuarder: It is pretty clean, isn't it. I prefer it that way, so it feels like you are disturbing the peace. If it were all war-torn, I just don't think it would have the same effect. Plus, when its swarming with bots (who traverse it okay actually, there are a few problems where they try to shortcut between two nodes, but I'll fix it with some more barriers), you don't really notice it.

TuskenJedi: the gun is just a prop at the moment, no, less than a prop. It is a background object. Watching the cartoon (yes, I have it now), the gun and its pedestal are actually larger than my entire map. So its really only there for show. Furthermore, although I can't get it to work yet, I want it to only be there in the Clone wars games, something similar to Luke's X-wing or the LAAT on Dagobah. As far as animation, I don't really know how to do it. I could get it firing an object, but the object wouldn't glow properly (NO GLOW!!!) so it'd look kind of stupid. But again, if it is possible it is one of the things I would love to do.

Yeah, just that. My Milkshape 3D has expired, and although I have gotten a code it doesn't work still. They aren't offering much support either.

Until I get that working, its not going anywhere. Shame too, because I have two new sections to go in, but without MS3D, I can't get them to work.

If I get it to work, I shall continue.

Yeah, um, <cough> I got it working *Sheilds face from thrown bottles and rotten fruit*.

Funny though, it proves you have to do your research. I actually got an exporter for Max (here for the maxers) so I didn't need MS3D anyway. Well that was a waste of 25 bucks. But fortuantely i can get rid of it because it closes programs itself whenever it wants because there is no EULA (End User Licence Agreement). Plus, the max exporter can export textures and animations, which MS couldn't, so I'm a happy man (except for that $25, of course).

Update in a couple of days.

I've started work on the sides. So far only the Republic is done. Still have to get to the CIS. Basically equipped them with faster-firing weapons with different looking lasers. If you ask me they look a lot like Ep. II. It may be kind of complicated to get set up inside you map though. I'll try to help as best I can once I finish.

Awesome Schizo, but please make sure they aren't too powerful, as I want it to be both balanced and not too easy to kill. This isn't one of those huge maps with hundreds of bots, I dont want players to die too often because of the increased power of the weapons.

I have had the same problem as Penguin, whereby VisualMunge spits out a huge bunch of problems with the core .lvl files. I have begun copying the files across, but its not working too well.

I would like to have IG lancer droids in my map, replacing the Magnaguards. Schizo, can you get it to work?

Last but not least, I intend to make a bunch of new weapons if I get the time. If I send you one, can you get it to work? It is a modified bryar pistol.

I've gotten the weapons to work pretty well. They're not too strong, and are actually pretty balanced so far. They're like the movies, with the faster fire rates. Slightly decreased damage rates for some stuff like the rifles, but the pistols are slightly stronger than what they were. I'm going to start working on the CIS soon enough. My main goal is to increase the SBD's wrist blaster so as it's much faster like in the movies, but also slow its run/walk speed down so it's a little slower. One thing I'm wondering, is if you want a regular battledroid in there too? Maybe replacing one of the existing units, or just on its own? Because then I'll need to modify the rifle a bit too.

As for the IG Lancer droids, I can do it. I don't have the staff to use, but I can simply get the model in. I remember having the model hidden deep inside some of my BF1 assets. I'll see if I can dig it up and get it working in game.

As for the gun, I'm pretty sure I can get it to work. If the model's all finished and everything, then I could make an ODF file for it and see how it goes. I haven't really had much experience with brand new weapons, but they can't be too different then the ones from the game. I'll just base the ODF off of the existing guns.

Definently great.
Looks just like a modern city, very detailed.
Will the subway car be animated (like a horizontal elivator) to move around a track or something?
Also, all I would suggest is to add stuff. Junk, rubble, structures, just stuff on the ground, boxes and cover and the like. Jus to make it stand out, look like someone actually lived here once.
Other than that, looks great!

hey, is there a window in the subway so you can look out and see the pretty stuf flying by? oh, is this subway a floating subway? Cuz if it wasn't or it sort of was, it would be fun to hit people. Hey does the AI use it?

Hey, thanks for your feedback TuskenJedi, I appreciate it. Its nice to know someone still actually cares.

The subway is just that, a subway. It goes underground between the two furthest command posts, coming out at the station for one and out into the open for the other. However, at one stage of the (short) trip, there is a window looking out over the balconies of the city, where players can shoot out up at the players above.

This being said, however, the subway doesn't quite work at the moment. It does animate, but instead of being freely able to walk around the traincar, you are pushed against the back wall while you do the running animation. I have looked into this briefly, and the way I will try to remedy this problem is by making the train into a vehicle. It wont be drivable, but I'm thinking that if it was made into a destroyed unit (something like a destroyed turret), it would be able to transport units properly while being undriveable.

I know its possible to move units while they are not attached to the vehicle, because if you stand on an AT-AT, you do not fall off while it moves. Likewise with a tank.

Anyway, unfortunately I haven't had much time to work on the map, and what little time I've had has been spent on trying to get my gun to work. I'm getting .req errors all over the place, even though the reqs haven't been touched.

Anyway, I won't leave you with nothing, so here's the gun:
