Good Music Composing Software

Post by ShadowHawk »

I'm looking for composing software that uses notes and other musical intonations for inputs, handles VST plugins, and can handle multiple instruments. Handling of Guitar tabs and cords a plus (but will also need to handle drums, bass, and other types of instruments too). Any suggestions?

Guitar Pro. I don't own it but I've used it and it works well. If you want a free program that has the same idea just not as many features, Power Tab works well as well. You can finds tabs for both programs here.

Is there a good tutorial for guitar pro? I tried using my friends (version 5) and I just didn't get it.

Try here and here. Finale Notepad also works well and it is free (always a bonus).
