Making Models/Maps look as good as possible?

Hey all,
There are many tutorials teaching how to make models look better, adding new texture masks etc. I was wondering if there is/was a tutorial teaching how to make models/maps/sides look as perfect/good as possible in ZeroEngine (Battlefront 2). We already use textures which are mostly 1024px² and the polycount is mostly exceeding the actual "limit". I know there are strict limits but I was curious which .option, .fx or even .lua commands make models/textures/maps looks better?
By the way do you have any tips or tricks to make the looking of sides/maps more accurate to modern games? Actually I do not care that much about Graphics but I know ZeroEngine can handle more than sometimes/usually expected?
Please don't get me wrong if I was not accurate enough.
