XSI Freezes on Splash Screen [Solved]

Post by Karnage »

Hello everyone!

I saw earlier that GuitarMan posted a similar thread regarding this problema while ago, but it was never solved.

Ok so here's the deal: I installed the SOFTIMAGE XSI 4.2 ModTool quite a while ago. I was able to run it completely fine...until a few months ago.

Now whenever I try to run it, it just stops at the splash screen and won't load.

I need help! Has anyone solved this problem?

um, your PC isnt good enough?
what are your specs? if you have less than 512 MB of ram and are on integrated graphics then forget about it. also mod tools will do that if your running alot of things in the background. start the program with nothing else running and just let it open, dont click or do anything and it should load.

I have run the SOFTIMAGE XSI 4.2 ModTool before, although my computer is not top of the line. I have 768mb RAM and GeForce 4 420 Go 32M.

I'll try running it with less programs though.

It might be my firewall.

-EDIT-

Well whaddya know. It was my firewall. Although Windows Live OneCare is secure, it just might be too secure. Now i'm running on two free firewalls, Zone Alarm and Ashampoo.
