i think that's a good idea...idk how to do it...but it seems to me(after reading this thred) that if you wanted to make a unit have 2 pistols...you have to make it like a Destroyer droid... BUT you just use a different model...make the game think it's like a DD and voila! i think that the only possable prob is entering/exiting vehicles... but if you use this idea in a Infantry only map...then theres no problem...

cept that you missed the whole point.
We as of now cannot alter animations or unit models... only the skins cause they are TGAs.
Vehicles have hp_fire points built into the model.
hp_fire points = weapons
Droidekas are built like a vec and they have hp_fire points on the tips of thier arms... this allows for the built in weapon.
Normal soldiers example clone trooper have no hp_fire point on thier models.
The clone RIFLE has a hp_fire at the barrel from which a clone trooper emits his ordinance to kill other players.
Your idea could work assuming we could add in the pistol models to the actual clone model and then add hp-fire points to the model, but we can't alter models or animations so therefore the idea kills it'self.
I spent forever looking for a solution.
I already fiddled with the droideka idea.
Unfortunately for the entire mod community it's not possible as things stand now...

At least, it allows you to shot with your weapons... (Even if there's only one "
hp_fire" point allowed per weapon)
