Eggman's Orbital Strike Beacon

I whipped this up yesterday for a custom side and figured it could be useful for other people. It's essentially a modified remote droid - deploy the "crosshairs," move them to wherever you want in the map, and call in the orbital strike. The download includes the model/texture for the crosshairs and all the necessary .odfs. Feel free to modify any of the files in whatever way you wish.

It's really not too different from any other orbital strike weapons, but I think it's a fun little modification. :)

That was actually a large part of my inspiration. A perfect replica of the COD air strike wouldn't be possible in Battlefront, so I just replaced the model for the remote droid, changed the camera angle to be top-down, and beefed up the remote's health so it wouldn't be destroyed by enemy AI, but would be destroyed properly by the orbital strike. It took me a while to work out the right values for the camera angles, but in the end it was a very simple weapon to set up.

A note on the camera angle, while I'm thinking about it: if you want to adjust the vertical height of the camera (so you're closer to or farther from the ground when moving the aimer around), adjust only the z value for TrackOffset and DestructTrackOffset (the third value in each line, set to 75.0 by default). Messing with the other values may give you wonky results.

Yep, you can change anything you want. I don't expect anyone to use the weapon exactly as-is; I expect people to use it more as a reference to follow if they want to set up something similar. The reticule took no more than five minutes to create - I just made a triangle, duplicated it three times, slapped a flat red texture on it, and exported the model.
