The Rancor Doom Star II (work in progress)

This project is by far, my largest ever.
But you ask yourself, just what is the Doom star? Some lame copy of the death star?
Nope. I originally created the Rancor Doom Star I as my 5th map project. But it grew too large and I could not recover it due to its huge size. So now I am back making a more improved and definitly restyled space station, that once I figure teleporation out, should be a really fun map.
This is a space/hero hybrid map, but I may include conquest, I havent decided yet.
The overall goal other then aimlessly flying outside of the station, in my newly modded aircraft, Is to enter the station and find your way through deadly rooms to the core, which once destroyed WILL have an awesome destructive process that may in fact involve the destruction of the station.
Without further adu, here are some screens.
Behold, the great Doom Star!
Oh! Its HUGE!
The quarrentined Cargo bay, hereby known as "Rancor's Garden"
What's this... bubbles?! And their following me?!
Aalya is being eaten!
And now, the medical bay!
Hmm.. looks suspicious. I'd better blow it up..
Oh my! The laser room!

There are 3 game modes, Eli, and 2 conquest ones. But the problem is, I fully intended on having conquest, but alot of complications arose in the making of the map, which built up to a lack of adding the additions to Conquest, and now its alot of work to bring them up to playable. I will sort out that mess when Im working on the sides.

Glad you caught on to that. It's going to be very hard to ever get through that central ring of lightning rods, because they constantly zap when you approach. You have to block, run, block, run, and hope you make it past. Jumping will NOT save you... trust me.

I agree. Very original. While the idea of some sort of a map that leaves that doesn't follow the unspoken rules of conventional mod maps doesn't appeal to me, but the gameplay looks terrific.

What unspoken rule of conventional mod maps?
I dont see one... <.< >.>
Anyhow, I plan to have more work done on vehicles and the walk-on parts of the station tonight.

I think He just means he prefers conventional maps.

This map is beyond conventional, considering a few objects are actually not solid, and some of the time you can see through alot of stuff, but that being said, its not about that, its about being able to move through a battle station =D

Nice little story, rancor. Poor aalya gets tricked by everything in this map.

Hey, nice tempting stories! I can see you put some thought into those.
This looks like a fun, objective-based map.
I'll submit my bandwidth to it when it comes out.

Although I plan on making it appear to be objective based, the only real goal is to get to the core and blow it up, which will do something really nasty.
The side objective is of course to stay alive..

Scopia 3000? Why you name a speeder bike after Scopy?
What about the f4r7tz machine for the next metal thing. How robotic. :bdroid: :3po:

hehehe, i love how the setting inside the Doom Star is kinda happy, bright, fluorescent colors yet everything burns, electrocutes, eats, and dissintegrates. OOh, this is gonna be a fun map by the looks of it!
