I can put dust...lots of it. Actually, I can put blowing dust "sheets" that pass across the terrain..theres a prop in the GEO odf forlder for that. Ill try that tonight when i get home tonight(at work on laptop) to see if it impacts performance any.

Off topic: BF2-Master, if you want more re-inforcements, put the re-innforcement bar to 500 under the 'Conquest' bar. For this map, the re-inforcement count will be about 1421.

Rofl!
I can see that just now. If it makes it past the loading screen, the copmuter would lock up so badly that it'd take a few hours for the menu to come up after hitting Escape. :O

Well if the dust acts the same in this engine as it does in ut2k4 or the unreal engine in general, it should also improve performance.
I was curious and it's your map but if you put a light dusting of it in the main areas, but maybe in some higher up spot or whever it logically would fit, make it a bit heavy.

If someone could direct me to the person I need to talk to...I would consider it. Im still hoping for that magna-staff MG as well.
It would have to be stable...so far almost all the maps that include custom skins crash randomly in multiplayer. Mine included. The jedi knights were altered to allow them to get into vehicles..so they could leave the Cap ships...and the crashes started. I made them locals..so they had no reason to get into ships at all....and the thing went stable again. The same story with alot of new skin maps so far.

As far as dust goes, it may hinder performance rather than improve it. Just thought I'd warn ya. Dust is a particle FX which is essentially small, textures polygons.

Yeah, I expected that. I have some dust thats filling the role of clouds above the core ship now..and i can tell its a lag beast. Thats why I said Ill have to see how it effects performance.
Thanks for the heads up though!

I never said I wanted more reinforcments, it's just everyone was talking about how much reinforcments, how many units etc. just thought I'd give my two cents

Stager is it possible that when the AI die and vehicles crash that they dont fade away. With the bodies and wreakage, it would give a better feeling of a battle.

Corpses staying in place wouldnt be too anoying, but vehicles would totally clog up the map.
I've noticed vehicles tend to enlarge after they have crashed
But that would increase the lag even more yet again.

Well, maybe not the AI that is fighting in the game but what about corpses that can be scatered throughout the field (friend and foe). Scatered here and there, just enought to give a feel of being in a battle.
Thinking about it, I agree with you, vehicle parts on the field wouldn't be a great idea. After all AT-TEs are all over, that can do.

It would be possible...but impractical.
After a few minutes yout Pc would crash because of the video lag...Thats too many polys to handle...youd be talking mega thousands within a few minutes.
Would be cool though.

That would kill your framerate down to zero in a matter of less than five minutes.

That is too bad this engine won't let you use dust, and that it doesn't improve performance like the unreal 2.5 and 3.0 do, but that editor is completely different with more optimization options.
Hey please DON'T for the love of the female players who like the ep 3 anakin change him... but if you do change Anakins i'll pay you to leave the ep 3 one in for me. I can't stand the episode 2 one. Terrible looking It would kill the map for me and make playing a george lucas jedi in pink with spielberg riding his back, more desireable. Sorry and this is off topic but I just really liked the episode 3 Anakin you've had in there all along. In fact being female, I never really entirely got into star wars (don't throw stuff at me) until episode 3, I really liked how anakin looked there. I did like the movies before that but mostly liked Vader and never got into the details of the films like I have since RoTS.

If they anoying rag doll affect was in this game, it MAY be slightly usefull in some way.
However people have had this discussion before and desided thats its rather pointless. As for the vehicles again Stager00 has already scattered his share of wrechage.
BTW:
How exactly did this happen?

Omg, lol.
Not to mention you wouldn't be able to acces the CPs after a while.

Well...if you look youll see that isnt a standard hanger...its a repair/deployment bay(thus the hooks on top). The aTTe was destroyed leaving the bay. The equipment are diagnostics and the astromech was repairing it.
At least thats how I see it...you can form your own story about it if you like..lol
BTW..I took that out of 1.7 its just gunships in there now.

I just played this for the first time a few minutes ago....Are you kiddin' me!!!! That's the most ridiculous map ever! Amazing! I couldn't even finish it, it took so long. But I loved every second of it. Really well done job. And did I see that there was going to be a Utapau XL similar to this one as well??!! If that's true, the anticipation is already killing me. By the way, I loved all the battle damaged vehicles. Makes it so realistic. Thanks for your work on such an awesome map. Later

I also played this map for the first time about 20 minutes ago. Ive never played in such an epic battle for a first person (or second person) shooter before. I was totally immersed in my surroundings. funnest map ive ever played for bf2. but, i also have a few suggestions. Im not much for the infinite reinforcements becauseit makes it so the only way to win is to capture all the cps. now i would thinks this would be extremely laggy for online play but u could play it with someone else over a LAN, and i dont think you could capture all the cps ,and especiallynot hold them all for 20 seconds for multiplayer. i think it would be better to just have a very very large reinforcement count. but its your map so do as you like. sorry if this has already been adressed. excellent work.
