Ow, thanks man, but... Umh... I don't get it. Well, I know what you mean, but I don't have a rep.lvl file of my own. I just created a single skin, and saved it as a .tga picture.

I think that this
index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic& ... hlight=tga
might be helpful
I only use .lvl files

Hmmm... I need some help here.
Really.
I've followed
Busterkinkade's guide. I've used the
GNU
Image
Manipulation
Program to create
this skin... In
Star Wars: Battlefront 2 it turned out like
this:
What have I done wrong?

It looks like somehow, you made it so that it couldn't find the texture.
First of all, did you just change rep_inf_ep3trooper.tga or did you create a new skin?
IF you just changed rep_inf_ep3trooper.tga, make sure that in the folder /BF2_ModTools/data_***/sides/rep/msh you have overwritten the default rep_inf_ep3trooper.tga with your own skin, named the same.
If you copied the .msh file and .option files and renamed them. rename the texture to be the same as what you named the model BUT BE SURE THAT THE NAME HAS THE SAME NUMBER OF CHARACTERS AS rep_inf_ep3trooper!!!!!
that's really important, you can't change any values in the .msh except for the ones saying rep_inf_ep3trooper.tga
Other than that, my only tip is to make sure it's named correctly and that the .lua's/.req's/.odf's are all calling the right unit!
lol, I once was wondering why a texture wasn't munging, then I found out that I had named it rep_inf_ep3_trooper.tga. LOL! big difference....
p.s: I'll try to post the texture in question (or at least screenies) soon

Does it have a name? Ooze-covered Stormtrooper?
Anyway, I'm getting no luck with putting my own skins in-game after reading
this guide, which ARC_Trooper kindly directed me to.
I just recoloured a regular Clonetrooper .tga skin, that's all. Nothing more, nothing less. Now I'm just wondering how I get that to show up in game?
If anyone could help me with that, I would be more than happy.

Great Skins peeps!, I was wondering how you make those skins, do I download something??
I heard you guys saying about Photoshop, but do you just draw them, or open a file?
And if someone knows, how do you get them ingame?
Your help would be great! DDR

yes. we use photoshop and use different brushes, filters, effects, all that jazz. we open the TGA. skin files and play around with them.
yes. its possible to add the skins into game. here is the link on how to. look at the 7th post in the link , 2nd paragraph.
http://forums.filefront.com/showthread.php?t=249356
just to let you know, doing this will add about 155,000kb into your lvl file.
I dont know an easier way yet, If someone know how, I would appreciate it too.!!!
