So, I read up a little bit about BF2142, and it seems like a good game. I especially love the storyline (if you've visited THIS thread, you'll know that I'm into the alternate history stuff). Thing is, while it does look good, I don't know if it's worth the money or not. So, what do you guys think of the game? Is it good or bad?

I have a couple of friends who play the game and they think it's a blast. I think I'm getting it for my birthday which is in a couple of days. But I can't give you a full review until I get the game myself. You can get it for really cheap on Amazon.

I've played the demo a good bit and the full version once or twice. It was okay, but I like both the older Battlefields (1947 ftw) and Call of Duty series better (though CoD is a totally different style of gameplay).

Nah, I dislike 2142. I know its supposed to be set in the future but it takes a whole round of ammo to kill someone. I have to say though, Titan mode is very fun (Escaping an exploding ship).

Well, I have Battlefield 2. I'm looking into 2142. It looks good but get Battlefield 2 instead.

QFT. That's really the only thing that kept me playing the demo (The walkers were fun too, though).

Not to sound rude, but why are you saying I should get Battlefield 2 instead of BF2142 if you don't even have it? You don't know how good something is until you try it. It's this type of advice I don't listen to.

Hey, you know if you do get Battlefield 2142 there's a SW mod for it called First Strike. I'm installing it right now, haven't gotten it to work properly yet but hopefully I can play it tonight!

The game-play looks good for it and I've heard good things for it but I've never actually played it and the demo won't run on my PC.

The servers aren't very popular though, which is a letdown on such a great mod.

Well, I would have it to give you an accurate review on it, but unfortunately, both of the BF2142's I got for Christmas were Deluxe Editions, and I hope everybody knows what the problem with those are?

OK, explanation time.

BF2142 Deluxe Edition comes with the Northern Strike booster pack, and DE needs it to be played. Unfortunately, the original Northern Strike pack was glitched, and unplayable. They fixed it, but not Deluxe Edition, so you cannot log in / create an EA account with it, because for some reason every single copy of the original NS pack used the same CD key.
