Can I prevent dead units from fading away? [No]

basically i was wondering if, when either you or AI died, is it possible to make the bodies stay there and not dissappear, or is that hardcoded?

I asked about this a while back, and its not - it would overload the game engine. What you can do is add dead unit models to the map to add a gory-esque feel that you seem to be looking for. There was a dead unit pack released with dead unit models (not gory, trust me) for all 4 factions; I have it if you can't find it, but ask around - it should still be on the forums somewhere...

Hope it helps!

do the dead unit models have collision geometry? if not the they would seem pointless, but when someone dies in the game they dont.

I believe dead bodies do not have collision, as I frequently walk through them...although they do bounce off buildings. In any case it's not an issue for anything sicne they fade away right afterwards.

You can use LUA code to make a dead body prop appear at the spot someone died. It is an extremely sloppy workaround, however.

If you mean the corpse props that have been released, I know Qdin's clone corpses do, but I'm not sure about others. I fail to see how it would make them "pointless" if they don't have collision geometry.
