If you give them vehicle weapons like the AAT cannon, just as an example, they can fire underwater like a blaster :D

@Trainmaster: I didn't use actual Bf2 water. I just simulated water using a number of effects as listed in the first post.

Ok, how about this: the scuba trooper has 2 weapons: harpoon launcher and rocket launcher?

Good idea. Perhaps though you could also try reskinning the Blaster rifle, renaming it 'AquaRifle' and changing how the blasts look too.

But just a Harpoon launcher and Rocket launcher is fine with me!

I think that the spears should come out of a harpoon launcher. :P

The trident looks wicked, I like it.

kinda obvious, Epena... :)

Anyways, I've finished and rigged both the quarren and kit fisto models, just waiting for somebody who currently has the full version of softimage to export into msh format for me (I only have the modtools)

I'd split the scuba trooper into two guys: one with the rocket launcher and the other with the harpoon gun. Just a thought.

Hey, I didn't know that hell was fun, but...yeah.

Seriously though. This is innovative, different and looks like it will be ultra fun, too. You could have taken it one step further and turner all the units into vehicles, like starfighters and made it like a space map...but I think that's beyond everyone here besides Astute. Haha.

What I'm meaning to say is that it looks fantastic and I can't wait to play.

Hey, guys, I'm gonna do the harpoon gun as per popular request, but for that, I need to retexture the ewok spear. But for some reason, I can't find the skin for that anywhere in the ewok side folder :? Does anyone know where it is?

It's actually right on the ewok skin itself. :)

in the cartoon the water is brighter (more bright?) :s and i'd edit some effects especially the ones of the guns of the clones ;D

This is a very cool and well thought out idea- i can't wait for the release. :P

One thing that bugged me about underwater maps was that, there are no swimming 'animations'. In reality it's impossible to walk underwater unless you have a very heavy suit on, so i hope when you say 'water pressure on units' , you mean that the units will walk slower and be "weighted down". Follow me?

A few more questions/comments:

great models!

For the Scuba troopers, My thoughts are to have them carry blaster rifles, harpoons, and rocket launchers. (each a different unit) Also, For the blaster rifles, you could make them more "beam like" and maybe be a bit "squiggley" (is that a word?)

And then, it'd be great if you could make a model of the Quarren underwater vehicle!
