Interesting question. Help to understand!

Post by correctmushroom2013 »

We've all seen vehicles in the game! We also saw AT-AP, AT-PT, AT-XT, UT-AT, MTT.
Their pictures can be seen in google.
I want to know where I can find these vehicles. In other mod-maps are present and can be manipulated.
And where can I find the individual units of the dead troopers(zombie)?
Please help!

Sorry for one more question, how to add to the map for more than 12 CPs
I have in excess of the amount of the card will not run.

So when you are looking on the forum you'll find an own topic called Released Assets.

In there you find three interesting threads:
The "Help me find a known PRE-EXISTING asset" topic (II) I think the name is self-explanatory.
The "Help me finding an assets author" topic I think the name is self-explanatory, too.
Assets Links Thread And here you find all released things.

And if nothing helps, it's not released.

Sorry, but you probably do not understand me.
I have all the files for vehicles. The fact that I can not install it on a map. Standard vehicles are placed easily.

Most do not understand this line:
ReadDataFile("dc:SIDE\\rep.lvl",
"rep_walk_atap")

I'm a fool lol.
Please Help me.

so you don't understand this line??

ReadDataFile() loads an file. The dc says take the one from my addon folder and not the stock one, rep.lvl specify what file to open. in this case the rep. the rep_walk_atap is the req file, that can be found in the req folder. and is called in the rep.req file. The vehicle req file calls the vehicle odf file

The problem is that the vehicle is in the same folder with all together (models, textures) is the vehicle does not appear on the map. Where and how to add these files?
Such as UT-AT. I downloaded from here:
forums/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=12991

Try at the zero editor put UT-AT, on the map unmodified.
And then tell me how you did it.
Please help!

EDIT
How can me be? Help me.

I really have no idea how it works on new maps. I never got things with zero working.

Your files go to:

data_XXX/side/rep/

and than the effect things in the effect folder, the odf things in the odf folder,....

Than you make a req file for those and load them in the lua file.

and i really don't want to minimoderat, but you should have a look at this: http://www.gametoast.com/forums/viewtop ... 40&t=21656

and i even don't understand what you want to say with How can me be.

Are you trying to load a vehicle from the stock BF2 assets or your own custom made or downloaded one?

About AT-AP contains the installation instructions. I did not get, but I did everything right.
I tried to do the same for UT-AT. Failed too.

You need to follow this tutorial for making new side files: http://www.gametoast.com/forums/viewtop ... 27&t=12729

Make sure you have your downloaded vehicle in this new side.

Just follow the instructions in making a new side except use the vehicle odf's and whatnot instead of the unit's. then add this to your lua:
Hidden/Spoiler:
ReadDataFile ("dc:SIDE\\***.lvl",
"the_vehicle_name")
then simply place the vehicle in using the Zero Editor.

I did everything according to instructions, it did not work.
If we add to the existing vehicle side (rep) and finish "dc", card crashes without loading.

And also I have a side of the vehicle. There is added not all vehicles.

I can not place the vehicles, that are downloaded. AT-AP, MTT, UT-AT and dwarfspider.

They are in the folder one by one. Can you please download and check whether everything correct?
here: http://www.gametoast.com/forums/viewtop ... 64&t=24689 - AT-AP
here: http://www.gametoast.com/forums/viewtop ... =64&t=9450 - vehicles side
and here:
http://www.gametoast.com/forums/viewtop ... =64&t=8877 - UT-AT

See how they look, and tell me how to install them.

You cannot simply say install.

If i understand you right, your are making an custom map and want these vehicle ingame. there is a tutorial by Firfekt for modding. read it first. there is also an section for vehicle. you'll need a spawn path for them. Than you need to add the vehicle to your side's lvl. And this is all in Firfek's tutorial. READ IT!! I read it also, when i started, but never made maps. But it's a good basic to understand BF

Sorry, but I am honeslty terrible at vehicles. But, I think you just forgot to munge the vehicle as a .lvl file, and then run that through the LUA, not the individual file.

However, I did find the dead bodies you were looking for:
