All will be revealed in the next GameInformer issue, but for now, Ubisoft has whet our appetites with the first screenshot and the GI featured cover:

The text on the cover reads:
Assassin's Creed Revelations
Destinies Converge in Ezio's Final Chapter

Twi's thoughts:
Personally, I'm not sure how to feel about bringing Ezio back. On one hand, I WAS curious as to who he married and who his son was and how the legacy of the Assassin's continued through his bloodline (since Desmond IS a direct descendant of Ezio, and they never really showed Ezio having a true family of his own after the events of the second game, but on teh other hand how much can be left of Ezio's story? I'm kinda disappointed they didn't choose a new character in a new time period. It would have been interesting to see the struggle of the Assassins in...ohhhh idk, the Revolutionary War/early American history or WWI/WWII. I'm sure Ubisoft will pull through, though, they've done an amazing job so far.

I'm on the fence too. I LOOOOOOOOVED AC2, (it was my first 1000/1000 gamerscore) but I'm nearing the end of everything you can do in ACB and as much as I really like Ezio I was hoping for a new protagonist.

It's an interesting direction choice for sure. That's Constantinople right? I think I'm alright with it, just as long as I keep in mind that this is the end of the Ezio trilogy, and should have a really cool impact on Assassin's Creed 3.

Pretty exciting. Constantinople is a nice twist. Thought it would have been the French Rev, American Colonies/Rev, or in Russian. Or even on the off chance they do a huge jump to WWI during the assassination of Franz Ferdinand.

Hopefully it comes out on pc at the same time too.

Multiplayer is coming back.

Looks like the same general idea with a few more features. Wasn't a big fan of Brotherhood's multiplayer, honestly, but they say in this interview that they're going to include (sort-of) a story to the multiplayer mode, so I might have to get into it.

Meh, Brotherhood multiplayer is pretty poor. It's too difficult to play unless you have a huge 1080p TV.

Okay, just got my Game Informer issue. While I'm not going to spoil anything from the article (yet), I will point out a sentence I found intriguing...

"At the same time, Revelations is a conclusion - the inevitable wrap of existing story points and character arcs necessary to make room for Assassin's Creed III."

Wait, so this STILL isn't the end of the "trilogy"? There's still hope for a Wild West?
:runaway:

For some reason I doubt the Wild West would be a very good environment for an Assassin's Creed game. Considering most of the towns from the iconic West are too small to provide any good free-running, which is a crucial part of the game. Though I do think a western Assassin would look amazing.

I would like for Assassin's Creed 3 to take place in Victorian London. It would be around the same time jump as Assassin's Creed to AC2.

I think the best thing they could do for AC3 is to have you be Desmond, although I'd be fine if they kept with the 300 year jumps and made it, say, England or Japan.

I agree with each and every word in this post.

Just under a minute long, mainly voiceover of Ezio giving us very vague info, some new (albeit very short) clips, all-in-all not much. But hey, it's something.
E3 trailer
SPOILER FREE for those of you who have not finished 2 and/or Brotherhood. You might want to have played the first, though, to recognize the setting and significance of the final few seconds.

All AC games are cross-platform. PS3, Xbox360, and PC. And not all Playstation games suck, that's just ignorant.

First, WHoot!
Second, you misunderstand me, I love AC, I just didnt remember if they were cross platform, I am probably getting an Xbox 360 for my 18th Bday, so if it WASNT cross platform it would have sucked, for me. I know that PS games dont suck, but I only have a PS2, not a PS3, so I miss out. Like Uncharted, firefek I want those games. :x

Ten minute commentated demo from Gamescom. Shows both Ezio and Altair, but no Desmond. If you don't like spoilers DO NOT WATCH.

I've just finished my first playthrough of the series. I've heard and read some good things about Assassin's Creed, and so was anxious to try them out; and they surpassed all my expectations. I only wish more of the game took place outside the Animus, and that there was even more interaction between Desmond and the others. By the looks of it that's not happening in Revelations. Ah well, something to look forward to in AC3, maybe.

As for time period, why necessarily jump forward? I might find something in ancient Egypt or China interesting, myself - or maybe even Greece.

And I really hope they do something sensible to resolve the little issue that arises with Lucy at the end of ACB, rather than putting that resolution off until AC3.
