Loud continuous beeping on startup

Ever since this morning when I try starting up my PC I get a loud continuous beeping sound after it shows the Dell booting screen and right before it shows the Windows loading screen. It shows a black screen with a gray loading bar at the bottom. Once the bar is fully loaded the sound quits and starts loading Windows normally. I'm pretty sure the sound isn't coming from the speakers but internally. I've never had this happen before and I haven't done much changes since it started happening.
My PC Specs:
PC Model: Inspiron 6400/E1505
Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3
Processor: Genuine Intel(R) CPU T2050 @1.60GHz (2 CPUs)
Memory: 1014MB RAM
Motherboard: DDR2 Duel 1024 MB 266 MHz
I've had it for 3-4 years now so it makes me wonder if its not a hardware issue or if its a software issue that can be fixed. From what I've Googled most people say its a problem with the Bios or Motherboard but I'm not sure. I've updated the Bios in the past and haven't had any hardware problems ever for my PC. And before you ask I've already updated Windows and have gotten all the latest drivers. Anyway, if anyone knows what's going that would be great since this is my only PC.
