First this is the REQUEST THREAD. You're post doesn't really fit.
Still though I think the answer is pretty simple, people like clones and stormtroopers :clone: :stormie: and don't care for rebs and cis .

Oops! Before actually going to the idea thread, I opened this thread in a new tab just to see if there were any interesting requests and I stupidly posted here instead for some reason.

That's just the problem though; EVERYBODY creates new skins and weapons and player models for the Republic. The part I just cannot stand or simply seem to understand is the fact that a majority of the skins are so similar and repeated - but of course with different names - I feel like all of the asset thread links are bringing me to the same thread over and over again.

It's just....the Republic side is virtually always heavily modded and oh so great and amazing and all of that - but if you look over on the CIS....you know, you might see a texture redo for the Droideka, or maybe an OOM Droid somewhere in the class list...or if you're really lucky, you may perchance find a Magnaguard with an Electrostaff. All I'm trying to get at is overdoing the Republic with a monarch-extremist mindset only leads to heavy unbalance.

Do you know how many results you get from searching "droid" with the search settings set to search within the Released Assets forum in the post subjects and message text? You get 44 results. And do you know how many results you'll get out of searching "clone" with the same search settings? 154 matches. Republic assets are ~72% more popular than CIS assets. That's just...wow......

I think the reason clones are reskinned the most is because there are nearly infinite possibilities. Just pic a color combination and pattern, or make a new pattern, find a legion number that's not in use, and tada, new clone legion. Watch the movies again. The cis looks the same any time you see it. Except for the b1 droids on geonosis, which are almost only a quick hue/sat edit away. So not many people need to make new cis stuff, because stock cis skins already covered it pretty completely. Same goes for the Empire, although they do have more variety than the cis, but only a few trooper variants, not infinite new legions. I think the rebels may be harder to reskin than clones and stormies, but I know the droids are.

This doesn't prevent you from making new droid skins, i mean if were just limited to what we saw in the movies/shows/comics, we wouldn't have all these clone legions either...

We might not see thousands of clone skins in the movies, but we see potential for that number in the 10 or 20 that we do see compared to the other factions' 1 or 2.

Ah, yes. Now I remember! Could someone make a Super Battle Droid model with the canon arm, like in the clone war series? Just a modified version of the stock Super Battle Droid model. Nothing fancy, like Clone Wars style bulky shape.

WULFMAN probably already has. I think he mentioned it in his w.i.p. (Where'sthe Important Person ) Thread. But anyways I couldn't do it because I'm not able to do characters.

EDIT#3 I have a request actually, it would really be great if someone who is really good at modeling would make a video of them making a 3dmodel such as a weapon or prop. No voice, no explanations, just a record screen of them making the model. This would be nice because I just want to see how the people who are really good do it. But I don't want it to be a tutorial, more of a learning from example.

I'm not a very good modeler, but if you need SketchUp tutos and tips tell me.

No please, it is not finished, and its TCW style. Even when its done I doubt it will be released, I suggest and addon for the stock model. I sadly don't have the time personally at the moment.

Noted. Now that I think about it, could someone just make it an add on?

I will try. If it looks awful or doesn't even work then I won't give it to you. If I do a good job though I'll throw it on over! I can't gaurantee, but!... It might work.

Can anyone munge an animation set for me? It only needs the aylaa tentacles anims + the han pistol anims, I need it to have a twleek(?) that holds and fires a pistol like han solo.

HERE you go, had a bunch of twi'lek stuff leftover from ryloth, I just had to copy delete the dc15a anim, and rename the animation. Fast responses are fun.
