Hmm, it's kind of like a real-life
tank destroyer, interesting. So do you just leave it there in the field when you're done with it or is there a specific place to rearm and reload?

@Nihilo: i'll make some new vehicle ammo recharge droids (similar thing in BF1) for both sides.
Two more vehicles, both of these are on the small side.....
Swampspeeder
A replacement for the AT-RT on swampy maps, the swampspeeder is a light anti-infantry vehicle. It's only weapons are
repeating blasters and the ability to run over and crush infantry. It's quite fast, can strafe well and has the ability to boost jump into the air for short distances.
Armour is light, so watch out for grenades. Fighting infantry at short range is the swampspeeders best combat role, as the blasters have limited range and you can run foes over/jump on them.
Screens:
Dwarf Spider Droid
The dwarf spider droid is essentially a mobile gun turret. It's armed with a powerful
blaster cannon that can only fire a single shot before reloading. The cannon can be charged to increase its damage, velocity, range and the power of the explosion it creates. It can be hard to aim, so a good strategy is to get up high and blast enemy infantry and vehicles from a distance. The dwarf isn't terribly suited to close combat since it turns and moves slowly.
The dwarf has another 'ability' - on death it creates a massive explosion. This can make it quite deadly in a crowd of infantry. If you're low on health move away from your own troops or into a group of enemies - then get out and run very, very fast.
Screens:
Credit for the high res skin goes to a_speck_of_dust.

So yeah, as a few of you may have noticed this hasn't been updated in a while, due to real life getting a bit hectic/complicated for me for a few months...but anyway had some time to work on it for a little while and now I've got all the LD Pt 1 hero support units done (with lots of help from AQT).
So, here's the Republic lineup for LD Part 1..
Ace Pilot
An experienced clone pilot in gear appropriate to ground combat. He carries a powerful
FA-1 Fletchette Launcher (essentially a charge up shotgun with recoil), an advanced
fusion cutter (higher repair rate) and two
thermal detonators.
Screens:
ARC Heavy Gunner
An Arc trooper weilding a Z-6 Rotary Blast Cannon. Slow and otherwise lightly armed (a pistol and mines) but with enormous firepower. The Z-6 is more than a match for a droideka....
Screens:
Clone Infiltrator
A special ops unit of the 155th Legion, the infiltrators specialise in stealth and sabotage. Their signature weapons are DC-15W Bowcasters, a chargeable weapon effective at both long and short range. They also carry incendiary and haywire grenades to wreak havoc and the camoflauge ability to help evade foes.
Screens:
Navy Officer
Non-clone republic naval officers to support ground troops. They carry an officer's pistol and standard carbine each for personal combat, but their most useful assets are their excellent support weapons - rally buffs and orbital strike beacons.
Screens:
ARC Trooper
Agile, and armed with a diverse array of weaponry, the ARC troopers are suited to many roles. Their main weapon is a WESTAR-M5 blaster rifle with several attachments - a standard rifle attachment, a sniper attachment, and a mini rocket launcher attachment. The ARC troopers also carry powerful wrist tasers to momentarily knock foes off their feet.
Screens:
CIS will be up shortly.

Time for the CIS hero support troops......
B1 Shadow Droid
A master of stealth and assassination. The B1 Shadow Droid's main weapon is a neuropoison launcher. It also carries kamikaze gnat droids that sloly but surely home in on their target. Unlike the other stealthy units in LD part 1, the Shadow Droid's stealth ability renders it completely invisible.
Screens:
Geonosian Pilot
The cunning geonosians are the weakest units on the battlefield. However, what they lack in stamina they make up for in agility and firepower. They can fly faster and for far longer than jetpack equipped units, making them excellent for hit and run attacks. Their sonic blasters do decent damage and can knock foes to the ground with a direct hit, and their powerful flak charges (cluster bombs) can wreak havoc on crowds of foes. Like the ace clone pilots, they carry advanced fusion cutters, with the added ability to heal droids.
Screens:
Mandalorian Mercenary
These flying thugs are effective infantry killers, armed with a powerful rifle with two firing modes (salvo or scatter), wrist flamethrowers and wrist rockets. Not as mobile as the Geonosians but with far better armour.
Screens:
Magnaguard
Fast, strong, and a nightmare to fight at close range, the magnaguards strike down clones with their powerful electrostaffs. They use both light attacks and heavy attacks (knock enemies over but use energy). They also have powerful missile pods bolted to their backs, which are deadly at long range.
Screens:
Droideka
Same old, same old. A rolling, shielded, heavily armed infantry slayer.

Very nice. But how fast does a unit die from the neuropoison? If the droid is completely invisable, then I would think that that would make it unstoppable with the neuro if it would kill any enemy quickly. Or maybe the steath runs out quickly?

Sky_216, will this mod only be on the maps that you have created,
or will it be on stock maps as well?

The first version, when this mod was called Dark Space, added Last Days and The Dark Times eras to only custom maps, as this is and was a map pack after all.

Answers to people's questions:
ShadowWing wrote:Sky_216, will this mod only be on the maps that you have created,

Probably not. If I do add it i'll make an "addme" patch that'll mean it'll be optional to add LD era to stock maps as well as LD maps.
inky wrote:Very nice. But how fast does a unit die from the neuropoison? If the droid is completely invisable, then I would think that that would make it unstoppable with the neuro if it would kill any enemy quickly. Or maybe the steath runs out quickly?
Neuropoison will kill most units if they don't heal, but pretty slowly. Only complaint I got about the Shadow droid from testers was it was underpowered rather than overpowered. Stealth = infinite unless you use lots of energy sprinting/rolling/whatever.
