I recently got a guest pass to Shattered Horizon on steam.(Thanks Fingerfood). After I downloaded it, I tried to run it. It went through all the basic install stuff but when it got to Microsoft Visual C++ this error came up:



I have also tried to install iTunes 9 and Nvidia PhysX and get the same error.
System Specs:

Processor:
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q8200 @ 2.33GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.3GHz

Memory:
4094MB RAM

Video Card:
NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX+

Operating System:
Windows Vista™ Ultimate 64bit (6.0, Build 6001) Service Pack 1

I am running my user account as a fully permitted Administrator. Would really appreciate some help with this, its becoming a growing issue.

have you tried (re)downloading the MSVC++ '05 component from Microsoft?

Firstly, thanks for your reply. I have re-downloaded the 2005 version and I have also tried downloading the newest 2008 version but they have not fixed this error.

Unfortunately that solution did not work. I downloaded and ran the application, followed the instructions, restarted my computer but had no luck. This is a strange issue.
