Will DLCs cost?
Some will, some won't.
Hmmm I believe I can imagine out a good and accurate list of DLCs so far.

DLCs which cost will include:
-Space Battles
-The Force Awakens Era
-Clone Wars
-More maps based on movies and TV Shows
-More characters and heroes to play
-Playable Star Destroyers
-Campaign (Ep. II-VII)
-Two new weapons
-Two more trees have been placed on Endor

DLCs which are free will include:
-Campaign (Ep. I)
-New hero: Jar Jar Binks
-Graphics downgrade
-Temporay additional eras
-A new weapon
-One more tree has been placed on Endor

I was hopefully accurate enough.
EA said no Clone Wars or Force Awakens DLC.

For some categorization I was doing, I went with Splinter War (SW). Both sides are splinter factions of the rebellion or empire, SW is generic enough to even mean Star Wars until a proper name is chosen, s can be for sequel, etc.

I think that list was meant to be sarcastic, read it again.

Oh well (crawls into corner).

But the only thing I hear for SWBF is: no that,no that.

Personally I prefer Star Wars Battlefront 2 over the new Star Wars Battlefront. I was once told by a wise man, "old school is best school," and I still stick with this motto since most of the new games that have came out look unappealing to me. Do not get me wrong, the game looks alright but I just do not see what is so great about it since you are paying quite a bit of money for barely any maps and most of the gameplay is on multiplayer which I do not like to play on.

If someone made something like the PeZBOTS mod* (Multiplayer but with bots) but for Battlefront, I may buy it. I am not a MP guy to be honest.

*It's a Modern Warfare mod.

It's 5 planets, 15 maps with the DLC. SWBF1 shipped with 16 maps. Battlefield 4 with 10. 15 seems perfectly reasonable to me.

Battlefront 2 was made and released under some incredibly extreme and unfair working conditions in under a year, was made a decade ago, and had tons of content. Battlefront EA was made over two years and they managed to make four planets look really good for $60, with some unspecified additions for free and/or another $50.

Honestly though I'd pick BF2 any day of the week. I could really get into the issues with the industry this generation here but let's just say everyone who wants every game to be 1080p, released annually, and only cost $60, here you go, you won.
I think this sums up pretty well my issues with this new Battlefront.

Also, fun fact, Dark Times II, a free mod for SWBF2, was released with more content than EA's Battlefront. Go figure...

And with starfighter deathmatch (Fighter Squadron/Space TDM), regular deathmatch (Blast/TDM), powerup-based-control (Drop Zone), and survival (Missions?/Wave) modes. And modes on Tatooine, Hoth, Endor, and Sullust. And the working conditions were terrrrrible. No pay at all.

I wasn't implying DICE was lazy, either. I just feel like the project goal was not to make the game the best it could be and accurate to the games in its series, but to make the game look like the movies, have some basic gameplay elements, and have it be out by the time a movie was out. I'd even say that factor kind of links them, except DICE only had to make four planets that there was already tons of reference material for (with one they probably weren't allowed to see very early on but had it release a few weeks after launch) and Pandemic was being told "10 months, here's some art assets from the new movie, no you can't see this, now you can see this, change the things you already made into what this looks like and also add a campaign based on the movie."

I also hate the excuse for Battlefront's lack of depth being, "We wanted 8 year olds to play it." Kids aren't dumb. Kids learn VERY fast. When you have an executive saying that they intentionally made a game shallow because kids don't like depth, I'd start questioning if that person is fit to be in a high place in an industry where the most popular games for kids are games like Minecraft and Splatoon.

Also, really, if any Pandemic people are still lurking here, thanks. I apologize if in the past I ever said Battlefront II was sloppily made and there should have been more. That's our job, anyway. I've learned a lot about the industry since then and the fact that you all even managed to ship that game is a testament to how good you were.

Right, because Call of Duty and Halo don't have tons of 8-12 year old players

I'm making fun of the fact this happens. Ironically adults are more wxcited these days for kids games like Pokemon.

To be fair Pandemic's Battlefront 1 launched with exactly 1 gamemode. It was just a really good gamemode.

---

In general I think the multiplayer on Dicefront has a lot of potential especially supremacy. However I think some of the specifics are badly done. For starters jetpacks just simply shouldn't exist, or if they do they should be extremely limited. The tactical advantages offered by being able to rapidly traverse horizontally and vertically completely outdoes anything else, and that's before things like jetpack/bowcaster comboing. Like seriously you get killed so many times from being shot in the back by a jetpack user it's just plain frustrating.

And that's what gets me about this game. Since it has no matchmaker and the team selection is horrendous DICE had to cut all of the skill play out of the game and make it so most of the game revolves around using little/no counterplay gimmicks to kill people.

In the beta we where worried about all the weapons being blasters would remove depth. Yet now that the game has settled I see that the game isn't even about blasters, it's about upping people with bowcasters, homing shot and pulse cannons, it's about camping hero and vehicle spawns.

Also the spawns are horrendous, there is no good reason to have a rebel and imperial spawn point be within 3 feet of each other.

You are right the lvl 50 players are very frustrating. It's a good idea to let everybody play every fraction, but I liked that bf2 mixed the teams new for each match. That way you were sometimes with the good players and sometimes against.

But I like the KI so far. They are really difficult to beat at master.

You forgot Jabba's Palace... sorry I've got a rose tinted nostalgia problem. That will be $50 at least.
