RDST gave me an interesting idea the other day. Would it be possible (or feasable/reasonable) to create a mod for certain vehicles that would give them actual shields, similar to what the droideka has, but on certain vehicles that, canoncaily speaking, would only have shields (i.e. X-wings instead of Ties)? In the past, people have developed mods to make the gameplay more cannical (more like the movies)

My proposal is this: someone could begin by making a modded vehicle with a droideka shield, then modify the HP for the shield itself to adjust for it being on a vehicle, and therefore more powerful than the droideka shield. Then you could try modding the side files or level files, which ever would working on a wider scale and allow for use in other modded maps.

WHITE-RAVEN, if you had read completely this page - Belonging to the "The OFFICIAL Mod/Map/Character request thread" -, you would have noticed the suggestion that I had made regarding the possible designing of Shields intended to Star Wars Battlefront Star-Ships...
Therefore, in order to sum up, I thought that exploiting re-scaled and re-textured models of the Vessels you would wish to apply a "Particle Shield" on so as to create the Shield itself would be a good beginning... (Indeed, after a few modifications of Object Definition Files, Targa and *.OPTION ones associated to this brand-new stuff, you would get Star-Fighters owning a protection fitting their fuselages, which would be as much white as the Destroyer Droid's...)
