He was asking for the mod.

The whole point of his post was about encouraging discussion in the forums; As he said, if he meant for the discussion to be private, he would have sent it in a PM. The fact that he posted it on the board implies that he is opening the topic up for input from anyone, although he may be specifically addressing the moderators.

I don't mean to be confrontational, that' just my take on the situation.

im a mod on the XSI--->SWBF forum and i never lock anything and theres a couple of topics i think i may open up because i know they werent locked by teancum or guru cause they post before they lock, and some stuff should stay open for discussion.

I hate to get drawn into this BUT...:

I believe that -_- was trying to say that the person who posted the Destroyable Star Destroyers Topic was asking for the mod, made by Teancum (/Pandemic)
I also seem to belive that -_- (or whoever) locked this as it was: a) Most likely the wrong forum, although it is kind of hard to know where to place this. and b) generally request threads are locked.

This is not to say that I agree with all of this.
True, the Moderators/Admins do seem a bit 'lock-happy' BUT, I am sure that they are just trying to do their hardest to keep this forum free of spam and peaceful.
There do seem to be increasing amounts of issues with mistaken locks/deletes, unnesecary locks/deletes and misunderstood locks/deletes.

Then again, if no one ever locked/deleted topics, then this board would quickly fill with spam and rule-breaking crap (trying not use stronger language than I have to).
I understand that the mods are trying their hardest to maintain order, but I also agree with PyschoFred: The whole point of this is to Foster Communication.
Locked topics ATLEAST need a clear description of WHY it was locked and WHAT rule it breaks/ why it was offensive.
And if it is locked because is offensive, then I think that there is a problem:
What may be offensive to one Mod/Admin may not be offensive to the rest of the community, there should atleast be other people's response, before the 'locky time'

Sorry, Just my opinion. Thanks for reading if you got this far.

I agree that Locking a topic without posting a reason can be Misleading/confusing.

Anyway, got to get back to Latin Homework! (ugh!)

We are working on our "Over Moderating Issue". I believe your still a moderator on the site btw fred , if you ever see something you want to move, update, lock, sticky, erase ...thats is an option you have ;)
