Mobile Forces

This is a cool game, or more like a mod, i found. It's built on the Unreal engine (the Tournament 2003, which makes the graphics not that good). But it's still cool. It's like mix of CS and Unreal Tournament, but more realistic weapons and vehicles, the vehicles have darn good physics BTW. But unfortunatly everything was canceled so the only thing left today is a demo, unless you find the game second-hand. If you are a fileshack user, check out this if you aren't a Fileshack member...well...register. Or you can check this.

The demo contains one map with the game mode Holdout. Where you should find a swich, swich it for your team and then defend it for 4 mins out of the total 10. It's the same as Capture and Hold.

What do you mean? It has been sold, but i think that the full game should be availible for download legaly, because the game is rather old, and there are a lot of better games that you can get if you want to have a game in this genre. Unfortunatly the creators don't have the game left in any of their databases, so you can't get it from them. But they told me that they permit copying of this game, since they can't sell it any more. Which means that if someone has this game and upload it on a fileshare program, it's no illegal.

All those explanations are helpful...
By the way, do you know where I could find (rather good) screenshots of that game ? :|

Yes, just a little typing error.

So, what did you think of the game?

Well, with the help of Mobile Forces' screen-shots I've seen so far, I think lighting and textures should be improved... In fact, this game reminds me (For unknown reasons) an Half-Life modification called Action Half-Life"... Otherwise, some maps of that game seem to be rather well-imagined, such as the place including a sort of swimming-pool... :?

Yeah, the action half-life mod was pretty mediocre, this is better. And if you want to play a mod like Action half-life play The Spcialists, it's also a HL1 mod, but has improved textures and lightning so it looks better. It's kind of a Matrix style game in 3rd person with bullet time and stuff like that.

I've already heard an Half-Life mod's name like that... I don't know whether I should re-install the original game to try it, because it's not longer a real reference...

since this is using the unreal engines does it have the ragdoll physics for the player? those make a game enjoyable if you die :P

Nope, no ragdolls, it's a to old game unfortunatly.

However, Half-Life was really easy to mod... In fact, I think that even some of these "un-official modifications" were even better than the game itself... (If you're interested, they're named "Azur Sheep" and "POKE 646"...)

If he owns Half-Life, I think he must know these mods, as they're rather well-known... (Also, the one called "MadCrabs is nice, too...)
Finally, your friend should browse Counter-Strike's "Mods" section, in order to find a Single-Player mode, named "Redemption", or something similar... (Only if he equally has CS installed, of course...)

Well, he has everything. He din't know of these mod, i'm suprised. But he liked them. The Halo Zero thing on filefront that you posted about in another topic was also real cool!

Glad to see he appreciates them... But I'd like him to post his feedbacks about all these Half-Life mods, if it is possible... (And especially about Azur Sheep and the "Redemption" mods, as they're my favourite ones)

As long as he has ever played to them... (I think he'll appreciate the Circus and the Temple, in "Redemption"... )
