Opening/"watching" animations in XSI mod tool 7.5

Post by ZappelClone »

yeah yeah i know...me again

scince you already told me how to convert .msh to .obj and import it to the free xsi mod tool 7.5 (again thanks alot guys, seriously) i recently tried the same with a few .msh from the animations folder in the battlefront assets.

the import seems to work fine because there are a few..well...objects after importing^^
i then tried the "play" button on the lower conrolpanel in xsi and worked around with them a bit...but as always (without your advice) no success..

is it even possible to "watch" the character/vehicle animations? or to edit them?

well...darth d.u.c.k.^^ i could also pm you instead of opening a new thread but this may be interesting for other users too:P
i look forward to your advice..as always^^ and thanks in advance..as always...

the obj-format cant contain animationdata ->you cant import swbf-anims into xsi

and its actally pretty unkind to pm a member just because you have a general non-memberspecific question
(i dont mind that as long as ist not too often though)

To add to this there is currently no way to import animations from a msh file in any format, obj xsi etc. Closest you can get is to put debug commands in the munge.bat in an animation folder which will create a .zat file which will give a text listing of the translation and rotation of the bones but only for the first 10 frames of an animation. Which if you wanted you could manually enter into the key frames and get part of the animation back but it is a lot of work.
