geez i mean how do i make it so that the joystick works. its hoked up but i want to use the mouse on fighting and joystick on starfighting

oh...mabye you should return that one and get a new one or go to control panel then: if you have windows xp-go to printers and other hardware then pick game controlers or
some other windows version-go to game cotrolers

then pick the one you have and...yeh

As for me, you should change some settings in the Control Panel... As your joystick works in one direction, he could probably work in the others after that...
