Not the sky, I mean there are literally purple tantoine props that hang off the side of some buildings

In a future version of this map, perhaps add a lot of green bushes+grass all around to add color
Everything is very brown and tan in the map currently. It's pretty visually uninteresting.

Most of Afghanistan's countryside looks like this, my dad has been there to play music for the troops. He took thousands of pictures, and green was everywhere.
Just saying.

It's a common misconception that most of the middle east is nothing but "Saharan" desert.
You could use a .prp file and use the foliage tool to easily add foliage everywhere.

Not the most refined tutorial in the world but it should get the job done. If you have trouble let us know.

Here is some foilage. I wont add cactus's as that makes it to saharan desert like again.
just some light foilage, not too much, so you can still see the sand and now there is green. Light shrubs/bushes should grow in sand just fine.

the foliage looks good.

Now how about some small rocks, I think Geo has some foliage rocks.
And maybe change the sand texture to something more, um, packed, rough, rocky... It looks a little too much like dune sand I think.

its supposed to be dune sand. + its HD! Thanks Marth! I may look at rocks for the ugh mountains. And I will consider geo rocks.
EDIT:
Here is a changelog from v1.0 to v 2.0
-wind has been addded
-minimap has been added, constant WIP until I finally release 2.0 final. Please no negative critism, minimapping is hard! I will accept suggestions and negative critism delivered in a meaningfull way. For instance I dont want: "Bruh ur minimap sucks! go fix it!" However, something like: "I really like the minimap, but you should move some buildings in the right side to make it more accurate." is much,
MUCH better.
-grass has been added. It looks great!
-rocks will not be added. It made it too "cluttered" with foilage and the geo rocks clashed badly with the green in my opinion. Did not make a huge difference
- the fire rate of the close quarters classes has been increased and the damage decreased. Ineffective at range as recoil is low-medium and it sprays everywhere when held down. Deadly at close and close-medium range and when capturing CP's. (mp5 and mac 10.)
-updated loadscreen to compensate for grass and map changes.
-Localization of the buttons from imperials and rebels to us marines and terrorists in the team select screen.
-will add a first aid kit with to the medic. It will be a custom mesh.
-Custom tips
-General polishing.
-Thicker dust storm.
ETA to beta release is friday with the release of 2.0 final on next friday. Hope you guys think the wait is worth it! (wink
