I just got SWBF1 game and loaded it up on PC. works great. looks awsome, I downloaded one of the map packs on this site(map pack 4 I think) and read that all I need to do was unzip map folders into folder called "addons" in game data folder. Problem is I can't find a folder named addons anywhere in the SWBF file system? If I make one called addons and put it in gamedata folder and move map folders to it game locks up when starting with a buffer over run error? any ideals on what i need to do to run you guys great sounding maps? Please help, thanks..

You need the 1.2 patch for the AddOn folder.

trooper', conceiving new maps for Star Wars Battlefront does not require any knowledge in programing... Just download SWBF Mod Tools to understand how easily they can be mastered...

PS : By the way, welcome on GameToast bulletin-boards !...

Off-topic : Now, I understand better why you've become the "main target" of GameToast administrators, "Guest"... If I were you, I'd stop posting such messages here, unless you appreciate being warned and banned on all message-boards you usually consult...

Unfortunately, I don't think you have other alternatives, Synda'...
But what if you sent a mail to Aspyr about a possible conversion of SWBF Mod Tools, so as to make them usable on MacOS ?

pinion', you cannot play custom levels with the first version of Star Wars Battlefront, since this one does not own the instructions required to handle the "AddOn" feature... On the other hand, overwriting the Sides updated through the 1.2 Patch by the original ones can be done without encountering any problem, if that's why you talked about...

hmmmm
so if u just get the for thinstructions to look e thAddOn file en you can play them on the original version
if that is true then y doesnt someone just make that downloadable for ppl

or do u need all the SIDE replacements also??

Humm, hello all. That friend that meng was talking about was me. I'm not sure what happened. But I don't have the updated sides, but i play on the unupdated version, and with custom maps. I don't know why i can. I discovered it by acciedent, I figured i wouldn't be able to play any custom maps, but just to humor meng, i put stuff in the AddOn folder, and behold, it was added. I have before updated to the 1.3 beta, but i unistalled, and reinstalled SWBF, and now I can play custom maps, and am playing with all my freinds back on 1.0. I've been trying to get it to work on my other PC, and can't. I've tried copying the files in my SWBF folder, and pasting them over the ones on my other computer, but no joy. The only thing that makes sense is that somthing out side of the SWBF folder is cuasing it to work, or at least not cause an overrun error. I still get an exception when i try to play jabba's palace, but all the custom maps work. any one have any idea why can i play the custom maps

HAHA, on my other computer i got it to play custom maps too. AND PLAY ON v1.0, So all you clan members, who want to play custom maps aswell, don't have to leave v1.0 and update. I'm not sure, how but i think it has to do with, where you actually install SWBF to. I've gotten to work on two computers now, and out of some weird thought i figured i would try installing to the following directory c:\Star Wars Battlefront well my other SWBF that worked with the maps, was install to a location in the main tier of the disk only on my e drive. And I was like WTH i'll try it and i was to behold, it worked. That may not have been the cause, however this needs some more looking into in case i didn't do some thing else i'm not aware of. As soon as we get done testing this and a few other things. I will make a more difinitive post

Sorry I can't see the point, why not simply just download the 1.2 version update for SWBF1. It doesn't simply allow mod maps, there are loads of issues and improvements that it resolves.

BY THE WAY, v1.0 does have the stuff to look for the AddOn folder, otherwise it wouldn't cause an error for putting a map in it, it would just ignore the folder, DUh. Its just a bad array was set up to handle the AddOn, but I've gotten around it, and i know why now too, as i said above, It was confirmed

The point

The point is quite simple, alot of people, still don't have v1.2, and for people who don't exactly have highspeed internet, its just simply too big to download practicly. I have the downloads archived, I would like to go to v1.2 but all my online freinds play on v1.0, the point is that for people like me who would like to play with their same friends, and play custom maps. And more people would like to know this then you think
