Maps in addon folder disappearing from game

Hi,
I write here because I have a problem with my BF2 mods...
At now it is impossible for me to play certain maps, previously working, and now disappeared with no apparent reason from my istant action list.
I checked the addon folder, they are still there, I've not touched those files.
But the many maps I add, the more older maps disappear from my istant action list, and some new ones never appear.
It is a problem I have with several maps by different authors & sites, so I guess it is not the file(s) itself.
So I have to express an horrible doubt: is there a limit to the number of maps (or the total size) in addon folder?
Anyone who will be so kind to answer and hopefully solve this problem for me will have my gratitude.
Thanks in advance.

I think there is a limit, I don't remember.
How many maps do you have the addon folder?

If you have the v1.3 patch, I do believe that it will remove extra maps when you hit 500 missions.

No, I thought the v1.3 patch only gave you a warning when you went over the 500 mission limit.

There still might be a few other missions that crash too which were not removed. To fix this, remove some of your mod maps until the message goes away. Do not remove the AAA-v1.3path folder or its contents.

First of all, thanks to you all for the attention.
Now, on the matter.
Yes I have 1.3 BUT I am far from the 500 limit. As now, I have in addon folder 36 maps. I also have a custom galactic conquest, but in the proper folder (gamedata->data->lvl_pc) with has no problem.
I wish to put in evidence that the more maps I add in addon, the more previous custom maps disappear from istant action list, as well as the new ones themselves don't display.
So I think there should be a problem with the limit. My opinion...
I'm waiting for your answers.

It's no "map" limit. It's a mission limit. For example, Tatooine Conquest in Clone Wars is one mission.
If you have era mods and GC you can easily reach that limit.

False, there is a limit of how many addme.scripts (or "maps" or mods basically) you can have.
The limit is 56(for some reason some people, like 1/1000 can have 58 though)

So, I have to count my addme files, stop?
If it is so, anyway, I think I've reached the limit...
I can always uninstall those which I never play (many awful maps) to solve it. Right?

If its a map thats bad, and you dont play, delete it, or at least rename its addme or remove it fromy our addon folder.

I was refering to mission limit you were talking about, not limits in general.
I always have 2-3 other folders lying around that I can simply exchange with the addon I'm using.

Regardless, it was important to point out about the limits he may be having issues with. All of them.

So it gives you a warning and then stops some maps from showing up in IA, but doesn't delete them from the addon folder. And even then there are some missions that it misses. Better not to assume the v1.3 patch protects you from this.

Thats not the point, its about him losing maps from the IA screen. No one ever said it would delete them from the addon folder.

Then another thing I want to make sure of: there is a 500-mission limit, in addition to any limit on addme.scripts there may be, yes?

Oh for the love of..
You're BOTH right.
There IS a 500 mission count limit.
The v1.3 patch DOES give you a warning AS WELL AS remove certain maps from the selection menu.
This DOES NOT remove them permanently from your addon folder, just makes them unselectable.
The v1.3 patch IS NOT perfect, it might miss some, meaning you STILL have a chance of crashing the game.
There is ALSO a map limit, because of another engine limitation.
However, you are MORE LIKELY to hit the mission limit before the map limit.
THE FIX: either delete some maps/mods or move them to an "addon2" folder (or a similar backup folder).
We're all in agreement here, just misunderstanding each other.

OK.
I moved out many maps/missions to another folder.
BUT in IA they are still show themselves in the list, leave no room for "new" ones.
So, there is a problem of duplication....
EDIT:
I have deleted DTRS folder right now.
I' m not very satisfied but it was necessary: it was exactly 105 missions... this should give a breath to my game.
I always keep the installer to apply it again whenever I want, by the way.
But I will not sacrifice Convo Pack also, without further fighting!

The v1.3 patch may or may not have an off-by one error in that mission detection code. It is very unlikely that a person would hit that exact condition. If hit, the warning won't show up and maps will crash. However without the warning, no missions should be removed by v1.3.
I can't control the order the game loads addme.scripts, so I can't force v1.3's addme to load before everyone else's. The addme is where the mission detect code is run. Any missions loaded before v1.3's addme won't be detected. However, I've only noticed them loading in alphabetical order, which is why v1.3's 'map' starts with AAA.
I've never heard of that 56 addme.script limit before (can't confirm or deny it).
There is always the possibility of maps screwing with each other's sp_missionselect_listbox_contents entries. That will make them disappear or reappear based on the map loading order. This risk is especially high when a map adds an entry to another map (one with a different char code from that map's folder). With the change addme tables, one can't be sure from the IA map list which mission codes are actually in use by a map.

As a suggestion, Zerted, if you update the patch, I think 000 (zero-zero-zero) would be better than AAA because my modID starting with a number (153) is listed before the patch when I sort alphabetically in Windows Explorer, and this mod adds a little more than 2 missions per map. (or will when it's finished)[/slightly off topic]

SO, IF I understood - noob - correctly:
It COULD be a matter of map loading order (cannot solve).
It COULD be an issue with the patch (maybe solvable as kinetos said)
It COULD be a problem with mission code (cannot solve)
All I know, without denying your expert and kind answers, is that after removing Dark Times II I solved the problem, at least partially:
I CAN now play many maps that weren't even displayed before.
SO, without denying you expert and kind answers - you are veterans, I'm a noob

- I think it SHOULD be - at least MAINLY - a map limit problem.
This doesn't deny there could be some other factors, as those you gently explained.
I still have to do a complete check of _how many_ "new" maps I see in proportion with those in addon folder.
In another words: I do NOT know IF there are all maps available now or still only a part.
Anyway, they are way much than before, so I get some results.
So, there is still some to discuss.
THANKS to you all for your courtesy.
I'll report soon.
