We've made this clear in the past. You need a lot of experience modding the PC before you switch to PSP. You need to know all the ins and outs of modding.

Plus, if I am correct, there really isn't much you can do with the PSP mod tools, other than change some textures maybe.

Re: Help with swbf2 psp modding
We'll need a lot more information than that. What do your luas look like? What do your REQs look like? What units are you trying to load? Remember that the PSP is a really weak machine, so if you want some of the cut levels to load you may have to do it with just a few units.

I didn't really edit the lua files yet all i put was SetPSPModelMemory, i didn't even add anything for the req files.Although the units are on 32 could that be why?

Re: Help with swbf2 psp modding
I'll say this gently. You're really not ready to be modding the PSP version. I was able to do the Xbox mod because I've got 10+ years of modding experience, 5+ with the SWBF games, and 2+ with making mods on consoles. The PSP is by far the hardest version to make a mod for -- like the Xbox there's no way to find out why something crashed, so you have to keep removing stuff until it works -- *IF* it works. The problem is on the PSP you have even less memory and processing power on the Xbox, and trust me, it's hard enough to figure out on the Xbox. I wouldn't even touch the PSP. It's just such a weak machine to mod on, plus Renegade Squadron and Elite Squadron are much better games for the PSP.

It's not anything personal, but modding on a console or handheld is extremely tough.

Plus, you cannot add anything truly custom beyond scripts - no new units, weapons or maps.Teancum wrote:I'll say this gently. You're really not ready to be modding the PSP version.
