.OBJ conversion lighting chaos

When I converted this model I made into .Obj and exported through mshex, I get the lights all messed up around it(note the "fan" lights on all the surfaces).

I had this problem before with another model, but that time I could SEE the edges that were giving this effect(they weren't merged apparently). In XSI the model looks as clean edge wise(no slanted ones).

So what could be the prob?

i dont really see a problem beside some invisible polys on the shouldersupport

The light is on some of the surfaces like portions of a pie chart. Some look like blue fans.

Or is that an implication so I can dismiss it is "special way of lighting"?

if polygons are dark instead of bright or the opposite they are inverted
to get rid of that select them and click "invert polygons" you should see this effect in xsi too though

Turn on the headlight. It should be on the upper toolbar in mod tool layout. (The icon is a spotlight) Now all polys that are bright are the right way, all that are dark are not. Then do what D.U.C.K said, but only to the dark ones.

Spotlight showed that it was fine too. The thing is it looks fine in XSI, but when put in a map it looks like it got scratched by a cat on steroids or somethin.
