That is true, glad to see another person who knows their history. However, most people will not understand why the brits are useing tommies, that is of course if they even care.CalvaryCptMike wrote:The British used Thompsons!![]()
The Americans sold tons of them to the british army during the war.
If he doesn't want to use a tommy gun that's okay but it would NOT be historically inaccurate.
Anyways great mod 38 can't wait till it's done

Re: The Final Push
Hey, guys, Sorry i've been a bit busy. Thank you for your comments (I always love reading comments and answering so feel free to pour them in here
)
Ah yes, i am fully aware that the British did use the Thompson, but I had really wanted to add in the Sten Mk. II which had also been used by the British and it seemed more practical.
But thank you very much for you offer SAM, i might need it if i'm going to make an Omaha Beach mod next or not.
My mod is almost finished now, expect a release this month !

Re: The Final Push
yah no problem. anyway, from what youve shown so far, the map looks like its going to be a good one! but shouldnt you release a beta before the actual file ( just so you have more eyes looking at it) and you dont get depreciated by negative comments if you miss something silly.

He doesn't necessarily have to release a beta. It could be private. He doesn't even have to announce that he's had a private beta.
Come to think of it, he doesn't have to have a beta, although that's where I would disagree with him, at least.

Yeah, a private beta would be the best idea i believeFiodis wrote:He doesn't necessarily have to release a beta. It could be private. He doesn't even have to announce that he's had a private beta.

Re: The Final Push
Both are now added to the beta testing list! Alright, i'll send the beta as soon as i get the models together and clean up the sides a bit, the beta will probably be sent out about 10 days or less.

Re: The Final Push
Sure you can, added to the list. I'm closing the beta now, I have enough thank you all very much. To those who wanted to beta but wasn't here in time - the mod will be released a few days after the beta has been released, as soon as i get info back from my testers i'll be working very hard to fix/improve the things pointed out. So the wait shouldn't be long at all

Re: The Final Push
I have a couple of quick tips for you 38. Ignore them if you want but I'm just suggesting.
--1. Polish, Polish, Polish, Polish and POLISH!!! Polish 'till your fingers hurt and your map shines!
I have seen so many good maps that have silly little mistakes and bugs that are so simple to
fix and yet are overlooked as the map is rushed out the door. Things like localizations are
simple mistakes that really don't effect the map but still have an effect on the person playing
the map. It really shows how much you cared about the mod.
--2. Play the map! When I did bug testing for a mod I made for my brother and me I just sat down, with a notepad and pencil and just played it, I recorded every tiny nitpick that I saw. That mod was bug free by the end let me tell you! I went back and fixed everything on the list. You have to use a list though, record all the bugs and go back afterwards and fix them
one by one.
--3. Fix the award weapons! If you don't give your troops award weapons then take them out!
I hate playing, getting the AWARD rifle, then finding it doesn't exist and I'm stuck with a
pistol. Otherwise if you have award weapons go for it!
--4. Voices: take them out or replace them! This is a WW2 mod so try to make sure that the guys aren't shouting something about Luke Skywalker. Take the voices out altogether or just edit the .snd files to take out all star wars related voices. ( Take out the "we've captured a cp"
voice while you're at it)
Anyways, I'm not saying you're a bad modder, or that you have or haven't done any of this. Just trying to give some constructive criticism BEFORE the mod comes out and when you can't do anything about it.
Looking good!

I know what you mean when you say "Just trying to give some constructive criticism BEFORE the mod comes out and when you can't do anything about it." This may be my first mod, but don't let that fool you, I'm very determined to get this mod comepleted and bug free as much as I can. I like to keep my work very clean.
