While I personally am not the biggest fan (the biggest fan lives down my street 400 feet away), I'm still really excited.

I saw all three LOTR movies, and loved them. Me and my fam are very excited for this.

I saw on allociné, there'll be 2 movies, one in 2012 and one in 2013.

hobbit part 1 and 2, makes sense i guess, the book has alot of content so that would be nice to see it all in big screen awesomeness. i hope all the golem stuff is true to the book and how the ring overtakes him when he uses it to be invis.love it.

YESSS !! (sry for capital letters,but ) I have all the LOTR DVD watched them all and the making of´s because it interests me (especially animating). So great news

So excited. The book was amazing.

I cannot wait to get to see Smeagol again! He is probably my favorite character.

I personally cannot wait for this film. However, I am very interested to see how well they pull off Smaug (I think that's the dragon's name?), and who they cast as his voice. I would personally recommend Liam Neeson. However, if there are two parts, they'll probably save him for the second one.

I can't wait to see Smaug either! I, too, think he'd be in part two since he isn't really shown at all in the first half of the book (or animated movie ).

I love that Bilbo is played by the same actor as Arthur Dent from the newer Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
