New Star Wars Games Collections

Post by Twilight_Warrior »

So I was browsing Target today since I got a couple gift cards for my birthday. I was looking through the PC games for giggles, and I something interesting caught my eye. Next to the "Star Wars: Best of PC Collection" were two new Lucasarts games collections called "Star Wars Fan Favorites 1" and "Star Wars Fan Favorites 2"

Star Wars Fan Favorites 1 contains Battlefront, Battlefront II, and Republic Commando

Star Wars Fan Favorites 2 contains Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, and Star Wars: Starfighter

Each collection is $20. If you don't have any of these games, I highly recommend them. Also, since these are relatively new collections (a bit of Googling told me they were released in October. How come I haven't heard of them until now?), they have support for and should work with Windows Vista and Windows 7.
Hidden/Spoiler:
And just between you and me, I think it's a development scheme to determine which series is the most popular with the fans. Whichever collection sells more will be their next sequel. If FF1 sells more, SWBF3. If FF2 sells more, a new Jedi Knight game. However, I DON'T want this thread to turn into a speculation thread, so this will be the end of that. Please keep comments related to the two collections and current Star Wars games.

:o I haven't heard of these either. "Star Wars Fan Favorites 2" has my interest. I already have Jedi Outcast, but it's a great opportunity to get the other two games. Is Naboo Starfighter the same thing as Battle for Naboo? I'll have to look it up. Great find, Twi!

EDIT: Ah, it's just plain old Star Wars: Starfighter, but it's still related to Naboo. I guess this is the only way to get the disk version of the updated game that was released on Steam.

Here are the links to the collections on Amazon.com for more information:

Ah, guess I got a little excited, didn't check my typing, lol. Fixed.

Also, just checked yodashelpdesk.lucasarts.com and confirmed that support IS available for Windows XP, Vista, and 7 for all 6 games (found under their respected collections). There aren't any FAQ questions (yet) but they will answer e-mails about the games.

yep, Picked up both the fan favorites at target. To me this is rather old as I saw it at other stores a while ago anyways, but since I got tired of the blurriness of the ps2 version on an HDTV, and was interested in mapping, I picked them up. Also I think I saw just one of those games at another store for like $15 so this is/was def. a good buy. Not to mention some of the best star wars games ever made (wished they released the rouge squadron series tho for pc (: )
