Underground Teleport bug?

I set up a teleporter, correctly, to teleport you from an underground facility to the surface. It works fine, except that it teleports you to a spot in the facility directly under the surface node. So my question: is it possible to teleport through terrain like that? Or do you have to circumvent it?

If I remember right, the typical teleport method basicly just moves you really fast, ignoring most building collision, but the ground can cause problems.
You might try a four step teleport to avoid this.
Have point A teleport you to point B, a location below ground outside the map with a terrain cutter above it.
You are immediately transfered from B to C which is directly above B a few feet over to ground.
C then teleports you overground to point D, final location.
This may not work well, or could be really choppy. I think there is also a entirely different method of teleporting a unit, that ignores the terrain.

That is what I had in mind, to get around it. What is this other way?
EDIT - I should mention, I can teleport from the surface down perfectly fine. And that method, Caleb, works beautifully. Not choppy at all.

All I know of the other method is that it exists.
There are two teleport methods, I presume you are using penguin's. I forget who started the other concept.
