or you can just go into something like paint and resave it into tga format >.>

You can't save an image as a .tga in Paint.

Simple, when you are going to save, just change the format, that works for me.

I use photoshop - I really don't like gimp much. It doesn't have as many features as photoshop.

True, thats why i use Gimp, Photoshop and Corel X4 in many cases, if one does not do something i use other.

To summarize what everyone else have written, a photo editing software (freeware or licensed), open, save as .tga.
