I was thinking, that a few other sites that I'd been to had subforums where people could put down current events or serious topics and debate and talk about it. I'd like to know, could it hurt to add one here? I realize that some people might not act in a civilized, but that's what rules are for, right?

Depends on what you mean by serious topic I'd reckon. 'Sjust that political and religious topics are a no-go area and mind you, this is still mainly a site for modding SW games. Some expansion wouldn't hurt I guess.

I'm quite happy about the "no politics/religion" rule though. If that rule wasn't here, I probably wouldn't be here, or at very least steer clear of topics about it.

Agreed. I've seen a few people come here and complain about how strictly the rules are enforced compared to other forums, but this is the most civilized and respectful online community I'm aware of, which is why I've stayed for so long.

Yes, quite a bit. There have been a few topics posted to try this idea out, and every one has crashed and burned after the first few days. People just get really fired up about things.
