i made a mygeeto remake with rex and his men. for the loading screen i used [RDH]Zerted's loading screen utility. everything works fine exept the loading screen.
it looks like this:
i don't get any error messages, the picture is in a tga-format and it has a 1024x1024 picture. does anybody know how to fix that?
if i get get the loading screen to work i maybe will release it because it's really fun to play.
thanks in advance!

i've gotten that too either take a new picture or maybe try saving it as a jpg then reconverting it to .tga it's just a problem with the picture itself nothing you;ve done.

strange thing is it seems to happen with every picture since this is my third picture i tried to use. i had that same idea with saving it as jpg and then reconverted it to tga format. i even tried using the jpg. i always get the same result. i wonder if it has something to do with my low video settings but that cannot be...
is there a special tga file size that a pic has have?

What bit depth are you using?
Make sure is 24 and not 32, no alpha channel, that may be doing something to you.
*wild guess but hey

that's a good idea. i deleted the alpha channel but i don't know how to influence the bit depth using gimp 2.6.
i still have those odd stripes and stuff in my picture...

There's a way to add the image manually that won't screw it up...basically his program is glitched. However, I believe a grayscale image would turn out alright using this utility. Basically, though, if you do it this way your image gets converted into a Targa, but gets corrupted, but if you do it manually you start out with a targa and it isn't converted into a new file, so it doesn't get corrupted. It's been a while since I did it manually though, so I don't remember where the tut is. It's either on here somewhere or it might even be in the modtools documentation.

thanks for your reply. funny thing is i tried that tut in first place but after 2 days of nearly constant failure i decided to use the loading screen utility. when i turn the tga into a greyscale it's just the same. i rather suspect that the grey tones and color transitions are the problem. i will substitute the picture and use another one. i don't want to hang over that loading screen issue and munge over and over again. i have better things to do than that.

Did you save the targa file with or without RLE compression?

I have been having the same problems, but I'm also very new to the whole image editing thing.

Place your original "loadscreen.tga" into
data_***/load folder and remunge load.
This is a problem with the utility I get, havent done it in a while but im pretty sure thats how to fix it....If im wrong ill figure it out tomorrow

the site doesn't let me post the original tga file as well as the jpg. the format is either invalid or the file size is too big. but i already substituted the pic with this one:
it looks like i am going to release this remake since it turned out quite well but that is rather off topic.

There is one bug in the LoadScreen Utility that I know of. One of the intermediate files doesn't get deleted/replaced. The simple fix is to manual delete all the generated load screen files
(since I don't remember the exact file that doesn't get deleted) from the last run before each time you
Process Map again.
I fixed the code, but then attempted to add some features and you can read how that turned out in the load screen topic. I really should re-fix and re-release it. I'll get around to that after whenever I release the next Example Finder. That was coded up and tested
months ago, just need convert it into an exe...
If you know of a different bug in the utility or any of my other tools please let me know about them.
Edit:
I decided throw up the 'new' Example Finder on my website
here. Since it's not the polished finished version, it only has the embedded readme and is packaged as a runnable jar. The main improvement is that it remembers your past folder locations and search expressions.
