You can merge them, if that's what you mean.
- Go in XSI Default Mode
- Go in Model (purple)
- Select your objects
- Click on create>polymesh>merge
- Set 'Tolerance' to 0 and click both merge buttons (depends though, if you've not weighten it's not neccessary. If you have, or textured it, it is)
- You know have a polymesh in explorer (8) Deleting a part of the polymesh (the sphere for example) will delete a part of the polymesh. You can do two ways to make it 'individual':
_ Branch (middlemouseclick) the polymesh in explorer, export as obj, delete the sphere/cylinder (and so automaticly the polymesh) and import the obj again
_ Select all polygons (hotkey u+F10) and rightclick mouse, select "extract all polygons (delete)"
After that, delete all 'remains'
I made this as descriptive as i can >.< Hope it helped

Re: how can i make that 2 objects become 1 object?
Thanks for the tutorial Manderek. I followed everything and did the branch method but i cant do the following:
I want to create connections between the sphere and the cilinder so i can attach te sphere to the cillinder with the connections..
So i select the object (now 1 object) and i select the point view, i go to Modify => Poly Mesh => Add Edge Tool => I click on a point from the sphere for making the connection and when i want to click on a point from the cilinder i cant make the connection.. I thought it should work with making the 2 objects to 1 object..

First of all, i don't understand what connections are.. And, most important, why should you use them? I don't know, what are you trying to achieve? (this is not sarcasm, i really don't know what connections are
)

Do you mean merging points with the tweak tool?
I to do not know what you mean.

Re: how can i make that 2 objects become 1 object?
ok i give a example with paint

The red drawed lines are the connections (from a blue point of the cilinder to another blue point of the sphere as u can see)
but i cant make such connections. When i try to make a connection he fail by the second point placement click
to make connections: modify => poly. mesh => add edge tool (what u do is setting 2 or more points with a connection between)
so i try to attach the 2 object together with connections
I hope u can understand me now better

Re: how can i make that 2 objects become 1 object?
Yes, i do, but this is not what I've EVER used... Did it work before? What i do, is select the polygons which will be in the object (so here in the circle)and delete them. This way, you'll get 2 open objects. Merge them, and select opposite edges and click "Weld Edges Together" This has always worked for me, I'll get some screens on doing this soon, since i know this sounds not clear at all

I'm assuming that the object in your screenshot is a single object, and you want to connect the 2 halves together, is this correct?
If so, delete the internal polygons on the inside of each half where you want to join them, this will create a hole on both halves leaving a cyan border edge, there are many ways to connect the 2 halves, but to keep this simple just press the N key and re-draw new polygons connecting the 2 halves from a border edge on one side to the corresponding border egde on the other side.

Re: how can i make that 2 objects become 1 object?
Sorry for posting, but i just want to say that indeed in XSI, the hardest way might give you the nicest result... Same with assets; reskinning correct might be harsh! It took me forever.. Now i created a new torso from scratch, and i could modify as i want, without messing something up.. someone, this feels to me as a wise lesson
