How do u make the AI not run into stuff? *solved*

hmm once again im not Silas im BaRn the Elite and id like to know how to make AI not run into stuff on ur map. when i add stuff, the AI just try to get somewere by running into the wall. Anyone know how to fix this?

You need to set up barriers and planning, take a look at one of the shipped maps using ZE and you'll get an idea as to what is needed. Word of caution with barriers and planning they cannot cross each other they are also infinite height meaning there is really no way to do multi-level planning or barriers. Just some things to keep in mind as you proceed.

mm so what u do is just that u make a barrier? it means the AI wont run into a frikin wall right?
hmm il try it out and tell u f it works. but still if anyone can give out a better explenation please do so

The AI doesn't really detect geometry when pathfinding. Barriers tell the AI where not to go. There should be further explanations in the documentation, and the "Everything you need" thread.

so barriers tell the AI were not to go? workd for me ! i hope it works.

wait ... do barriers block from ANYTHING goin there.. like its a wall...like when u go to it ur walking into and invisible wall...if thats it the plz i need another way... :|

The only thing that barriers do is tell the AI what to avoid--the player can still walk through barriers without a problem. They're the best way to get the AI to do what you want. If you want some more complicated AI behaviour (taking alternative routes to various places) you're going to have to put in bot pathing.

well the only prob with the barriers is in one place the AI still go in the barrier , however all the other barriers work good

Well, the AI will still run up to the barrier on occasion, but they won't go past it unless they're dodging.
