Hey guy, recently I bought a really expensive joystick for combat flight simulator 3 battle for europe but I was disappointing with the graphics. Anyone know a graphically good version of flight simulator (other than FSX)? Or a flight simulation game?

Well, there's HAWX 2. Its not technically a flight simulator but you can land and take off in it... and shoot down bad guys all at the same time!

The Falcon series has always been a pretty solid benchmark of the hard (versus soft) flight-sim genre. I've got Falcon 4.0, and while it's over 10 years old, a revamp of the game was released a few years ago (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falcon_4.0:_Allied_Force). If you're looking for a combat flight sim at the detail level of something like MS's Flight Sim series, Falcon's a good choice.

Id say Lock On Flaming Cliffs 2. It has got some decent graphics for a flight simulator (not HAWX graphics, but as you mentioned its not a flight sim) and a variety of aircrafts you can control, not just one like in most combat flight sims.

Wings of Prey is going for $6 US on Steam for the next two hours. Its the follow up to IL2 Sturmovik which is also a great combat flight simulator.

I don't know if there is a PC version, but my friend vouches heavily for Ace Combat 5.

Ah, I love CFS3. Even if the graphics aren't overly impressive, it was released in 2002, so I would say they did pretty well. The multiplayer is also amazing when you get it to work, but you have to host a private IP session because MS closed down the servers a long time ago. But if you want to try out multi I would love to play. :D

Yes.
WoP is more or less the direct follower of IL-2 Shturmovik. Difference is that you can choose arcade or realistic options, like crosshair in "3rd person view", realistic flight behaviour, unlimited fuel/ammo and so on.
If you get Wings of Luftwaffe DLC youll be able to play a couple of german missions.

Wings over Vietnam is set in well... Vietnam war as you have already guessed and features many different US fighters, F-4 Phantom being my favorite :P

Wings over Europe is set in Cold War gone hot scenario. Many different US fighters again (A-10 and F-15 included) and one Soviet fighter.

And as I already said Lock On Flaming Cliffs 2 is a very good flight sim set in modern days and features US and Russian aircrafts, and is by far the most realistic of all.

X3 Terran Conflict could be interesting if you are looking for a space flight sim with the ability to control everything from a scout fighter over frigate to a huge carrier.
