Honestly, I just need any way to convert a .dae with multiple textures into a .msh.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have two versions of Foundations installed right now. 4.2 and 5.11.Food_Eater wrote:I want to import a .dae file from SketchUp

Even if it's not the number of textures, MeshEx won't convert my model (it DID convert a single-textured version though). So it seems I have to use the Pandemic addon. My choices here are to follow MsHwIz's suggestion of using Blender to convert to .obj but find out how to keep the textures from messing up, or to find out how to get Crosswalk working.RepSharpshooter in the MeshEx topic wrote:There has to be one and only one texture projection

When you exported the model from xsi with crosswalk, did you make sure to middle click the dummyroot under which the polymesh is located? or did you just have the polymesh selected? Did you make sure to check "selection only", "convert meshes to triangles", and "export xsi normals"? If the answer is no to any of those, it causes the problem you're mentioning. As for the texture projection, xsi exports the model with one texture projection.Food_Eater wrote:Well first of all, I can't really import to Foundations because the normal exporters don't work, and Crosswalk refuses to integrate into Foundations. Or at least there isn't a "Crosswalk" item under the menu like there is in Modtool.
I did all the pre-export stuff with Modtool 7.5. When I export to xsi, I convert with MeshEx but when it finishes, the .msh file doesn't have any points or triangles. I kinda mentioned that in the first post though.

Then whatever, that's not the problem. I guess I fail to understand what a texture "projection" is. But either way, MeshEx crashes with my model.Commander_Fett wrote:As for the texture projection, xsi exports the model with one texture projection.

Crosswalk(any version) will not integrate with any version of XSI below 6 since it wasn't developed until then and since the Foundation trials are 5.11 and below they fall in the non-compatible category.Food_Eater wrote:Let's not go back and double-check stuff, let's make progress.
