Nice. Although I think I've outgrown Pokemon, I might just get my hands on Soul Silver just for a trip down memory lane

.

I've owned every pokemon game thats come out, so these should be very interesting to have, just to see the changes between the two.
I really wish they would remake the Pikachu: Special Edition for DS or GBA though.

It's a video game. Outgrowing a pair of pants seems normal, but I have always had a hard time reconciling outgrowing a video game. Tastes change, I suppose, but the Pokemon series has always had some pretty solid (if formulaic) gameplay if you're into RPGs.

Sometimes I wish that would very in the slightest though, ever since the beginning, its always been beat 8 gym leaders, beat the bad guys, and beat the E4 and champion. rinse and repeat.
Pokemon Colosseum and xD: GoD were a relief from the repetitiveness of the GB-A games.

Good point there. I suppose the reason I always loved Gold and Silver is because it's different from the other games (you get to go to 16 gyms, the last battle isn't at the Elite Four, etc.) and I think it's one of the few Pokemon games that tried to link itself with the other games. I suppose what I probably meant was "Pokemon got boring after a while from the repetitive gameplay."

Sometimes I wish that and when I do I just don't play the game. However, I like hamburgers from a lot of different places and I don't stop liking them because they all taste pretty much the same - you know?
To be fair I haven't played one of these games in years, but I don't own a DS and haven't played any of the latest-gen games. I'll pick up one of the older ones from time-to-time and play it through, though. I still enjoy the concept though, and that's what's important.

I like that they are remaking the classics instead of coming up with new ones (considering they're up to what now, 400? 500?), but could they just come up with a better adjective? HEART Gold? SOUL Silver? At least Fire Red and Leaf Green were decnet sounding. This just sounds like they're making these for 5-8 year old girls. I mean what about Solar Gold and Lunar Silver? Or maybe Luster Gold and Metallic Silver? I realize it IS a child's game, so "fun" names might fit better than (for lack of a better term) "cooler" names, but I think it would sell better to the younger boy pokemon players if the titles weren't all lovey-dovey.

Been following it since it revealed back in like, April. In fact, with my odd hobby of playing games in different languages, I decided once again to import them both and I'll have them next week.
But yeah, these two look really good. They actually added what appears to be a storyline with the Rockets (something that was missing with the originals), added a bunch of new ways to obtain some of the less used legends (HG gets Ho-oh and Kyogre, SS gets Lugia and Groudon. Trading the Hoenn legends to the same game result in finding Rayquaza.)
My only complaint is that when the game comes out in English, the text will no longer have random capitalization, which made it sound like everyone was just having temporary moments of anger. For instance,
this glitch and the famous KURT who will make BALLS for you in AZALEA TOWN.
And yes, there are 493 not counting the forms for everything.
Oh, and if Crystal was remade, which it won't be unless the new DS comes out in 2020, it would most likely be called Mind Crystal. Heart, Soul and Mind. Makes sense now?

well there are new sections to HG and Ss. like in the link i posted cynthia returns and this opens up a new arena if you have the maker of pokemon (arcurs (sorry wrong spelling) which you can get one sinnoh legend for free at level 1
but i didnt get to play the originals because i was like 4/5 when yellow came out so i got yellow and i never atually liked the game due to pikatue bing weak against rock. but then i decided to get the rest of the games from then on and i have really enjoyed the series specially the 3-dness of D,PA,PL which made a start for the game and really made me enjoy the game.
But as i didnt get to play the originals this has made me really up for HG and Ss for the new features like the props like the trees and houses and hopefully this one you can explore kanto. But like i said before i cant wait for all the new features, pokewalk, pokettholon, pokemon walking out side of there balls so you get a taste of pokemon yellow in here so this kinda shows this could be the end of pokemon because of all the features in here all 495 pokemon features of old games

As much as I loved Gold/Silver/Crystal, I think I'm hanging up my Pokeball belt. But great nostalgia value.

I just rcently played the old games via emulators and watched the movies, and it's safe to say that although misty is gone, pokemon is one of the few franchises not tarished by time.

Which is illegal.
I wish they would remake the enhanced remakes of the series along with the main two from each generation. My favorite two from way back when were probably Yellow and Crystal.

i think this is it for pokemon. there isnt really any more names. plus what animals have they not used as a pokemon. they have used them all basically and it getting redicules now like a lawn mower pokemon ect. how ever i think there could be a wii game for pokemon going around in d on a never ending quest maby (like ash does) or a wii game that goes around all the regions seen in the program. but HG and Ss looks awsome still

I can not wait! I'll been with Pokemon pretty much sense I've been alive. Hence my avatar.
I think my favorite part will be the fact that Pokemon can follow you.
Pokemon to me Isn't something you can grow out of. I mean, I have a $1500 collection (No joke) of Pokemon cards which I could sell and get get all kinds of stuff. But I'll be with Pokemon till they stop making Pokemon stuff, and even beyond that.
I think I'll wait for the English version. I'd rather wait and have a game I can understand, rather than get in in a couple of weeks and struggle to even understand what people are saying.
And the names...? Well they could have been better. But you can't judge a book by it's cover, right?
EDIT: Oh yeah, BYW. Kinda Off Topic, but Ash has been 10 years old now
for 10 years. He's like 20 or something!

I once killed a man with my album.
In all seriousness, that thing can easily tear down a wall, it's like a sledgehammer.
Honestly though, the only things I really care about are the main games now, not the show, not the spinoff games, not the random merchandise (Waffle Maker? Really?). The games I like because of how they run, with all the hidden mechanics like Individual Values and Effort Values that take more explaining than I'm able to write at this time because I just woke up. Plus, HG and SS will allow me to get legal versions of some of these guys, not just Action Replayed ones caught at Route 221.
